9 Reasons Why We Should All Be Like Rory

There's a little bit of Rory in all of us.

As I re-watch "Gilmore Girls" (for the fourth time, I might add) I just couldn't help but write down all my feelings about this amazing show. To start the writing in this show is impeccable, with quick and witty lines and characters that are extremely relatable. It seems silly to say that one of the two main characters has stuck out to me but this time around I couldn't help but notice Rory and how much she is in all of us. I remember watching this show probably in middle school seeing her go through high school and then college imagining what it all would be like and what kind of adventures I would go on. Rory's optimistic view of the world and desire to follow her dreams is wonderful and something we can all take a hint from. Here are some reasons why we should all aspire to be like Rory.

1. She understands that sleep is important, and I mean why would you wake up before 11 am if you don't have to?

2. We've all had those days where we just need comfort food to make the day better.

Sometimes you just want cheap Chinese food delivered to your door or piles of junk food and a good movie.

3. She is all of us in an awkward situation

We've all had those awkward moments when all we want to do is run out of the store and possibly accidentally steal some corn starch in the process, however in the end she knows there's nothing you can really do so just smile and twirl it out.

4. She knows that through it all there's nothing more important than family.

5. Rory's undying loyalty to her friends is something amazing.

She's there for her friends through thick and thin and that's exactly what I strive for in a friendship.

6. She follows her dreams and doesn't let small obstacles get in her way.

She sees what she wants and goes for it. She also rolls with the punches and doesn't try to change the path she's been lead on.

But all in all one of the best parts about this show and about Rory is that these characters feel real, they're honest and relatable. For example...

7. Rory is all of us during finals

8. There's also that "super relatable" feeling of when you truly care for everyone but sometimes you also just don't like anyone.

9. And let's not even get started on the coffee addiction of the Gilmore girls.

Basically I could go on and on about this show and all the reasons that it, and it's characters are great, but basically this is timeless and I'll keep watching it over and over. If you haven't watched it yet go do it now before the revival of the show this fall. Get to know Rory and Lorelai and fall in love with the kooky town that is Stars Hollow!

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
