It was something we loved.

Sports. Containing some highlights of people's lives. For me, the sport was soccer. The field was my home away from home. It was something that allowed me to get my mind off of the things keeping my stomach in knots.

What was your sport? Soccer, basketball, volleyball, golf, baseball, track, football? Whatever it may be, take it all in. Take in the nerves before a game and the frustration at practice. Sometime in the future, it'll be gone, and you'll wish you could have it back. One last goal, one last pass to your best friend, one last deep breath in before the starting whistle blows.

We miss this because it was our life. For years, we hadn't thought of anything else to do in the fall other than soccer or whatever your sport may be. Year after year, you repeated the same thing. For some, like myself, we played year round. There were no breaks, which left us empty once high school ended.

We miss it because high school can be a stressful time. Soccer had helped me clear my mind, get in shape and have a second family. I definitely felt nothing but happiness while on that field with my second family. Even after a loss, we stuck together. The support system these teams have are something everyone deserves to have in their lives.

We miss it because it was fun. The bus rides to games. The out of town tournaments and the smell of the kettle corn. Getting a t-shirt every tournament you went to. Pre-game rituals. Laughing through the pain of pre-season. And last but not least, playing beside your best friends for 90 minutes.

Soccer had been a part of my life for many years. Coming from a college freshman, it's hard. It's hard to see your old team play again without you. It's difficult to go into your first fall season without playing soccer with the team you used to. So if I had one point to get across from reading this article I would say this. "Remember your favorite moments and don't let these moments go by too fast. You'll miss them one day, and that one day will be your first season without the sport you love."

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Blair Waldorf
Stop Hollywood

For those of you who have watched "Gossip Girl" before (and maybe more than just once), you know how important of a character Blair Waldorf is. Without Blair, the show doesn’t have any substance, scheme, or drama. Although the beginning of the show started off with Blair’s best friend Serena returning from boarding school, there just simply is no plot without Blair. With that being said, Blair’s presence in the show in much more complex than that. Her independent and go-getter ways have set an example for "Gossip Girl" fans since the show started and has not ended even years after the show ended. Blair never needed another person to define who she was and she certainly didn’t need a man to do that for her. When she envisioned a goal, she sought after it, and took it. This is why Blair’s demeanor encompasses strong women like her.

singing
Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
