October, It's One Of The Best Months Of The Year

Ohhh, October. the temperature starts to change, the season of holidays begins, people start to decorate their homes. Nothing is better than watching scary movies, getting to pull out the sweaters and boots that have been sitting in your closet since last year. Ohhh, and pumpkin everything, am I right?

It's the start of the holiday season!!!

With October it takes us into the most festive time of the year, November equals Thanksgiving, December equals Christmas. A time full of family and friends and good food. And all the boxes of decorations we get to bring down from the attic. All the amazing flavored foods and seasonal candies.

Bath and Body Works, that's all I'm gonna say.

I mean there are the Halloween, Fall and Christmas lines that are amazing. I mean if your gonna say that you don't go out and spend a decent amount of money here at this time of the year your lying to yourself. Now not everyone loves this store but the scented candles they have are so wonderful. They fill your home with just warm and inviting scents.

All of the movies.

ABC Family's 31 Nights of Halloween, and their 25 Days of Christmas. (I refuse to call them freeform.) Not to mention there is the Hallmark channel, and they are bringing up a whole new line up for this Christmas. There are so many good movies for this time of year, like "The Nightmare Before Christmas," "Elf," "Hocus Pocus," "Home Alone," and the list goes on forever. Grab a cozy blanket, some snacks and you got yourself the best night ever.

Pumpkins, Cookies, Boots, Scarves, Candy canes, Gingerbread Houses, Trick or Treating.

Making cookies, carving pumpkins, getting to wear boots and scarves. Well getting to wear boots and scarves in Florida isn't till like December, but October lets us know that it won't be hot all day every day for much longer. Carving pumpkins, while messy is so much fun because trying to get a really good design can be kind of tricky. Making a gingerbread house is a mission in it of itself because trying to get the walls to stay up and the roof not to slide off is such a struggle, but the end results and the memories are worth all the struggling. Trick or treating no matter how old you are is fun because free candy is the best candy, and getting to dress up is part of the fun too.

October, you are a great month and thank you for being you!

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.

From sea to shining sea, the United States was uniquely positioned for an incredible Aurora Borealis display on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024, going into Friday, Oct. 11.

It was the second time this year after an historic geomagnetic storm in May 2024. Those Northern Lights were visible in Europe and North America, just like this latest rendition.

To My Loving Boyfriend,

  • Thank you for all that you do for me
  • Thank you for working through disagreements with me
  • Thank you for always supporting me
  • I appreciate you more than words can express
  • You have helped me grow and become a better person
  • I can't wait to see where life takes us next
  • I promise to cherish every moment with you
  • Thank you for being my best friend and confidante
  • I love you and everything you do

To start off, here's something I don't say nearly enough: thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You do so much for me that I can't even put into words how much I appreciate everything you do - and have done - for me over the course of our relationship so far. While every couple has their fair share of tiffs and disagreements, thank you for getting through all of them with me and making us a better couple at the other end. With any argument, we don't just throw in the towel and say we're done, but we work towards a solution that puts us in a greater place each day. Thank you for always working with me and never giving up on us.

Because no one ever really leaves.

Ah, yes, good old Hauppauge. We are that town in the dead center of Long Island that barely anyone knows how to pronounce unless they're from the town itself or live in a nearby area. Hauppauge is home to people of all kinds. We always have new families joining the community but honestly, the majority of the town is filled with people who never leave (high school alumni) and elders who have raised their kids here. Around the town, there are some just some landmarks and places that only the people of Hauppauge will ever understand the importance or even the annoyance of.
