Why We Love Kate Middleton

The Duchess of Cambridge just celebrated her 35th birthday. While the world has watched as her life as turned into a real - life fairytale, we can't help but to admire Kate for a variety of reasons. She's beautiful, she's classy and she is a living example of a true princess. While she wasn't born royal, she has quickly earned a place in our hearts. In celebration of the Duchess' birthday, we take a look back on some of the many reasons why we love her.

1. She's an advocate for Mental Health.

Mental health, an issue that has grown more prominent over the years. With more awareness, comes more relief. Public figures taking a stance is a start to getting the word out there.

2. She loves Harry Potter just as much as we do.

Most of us grew up loving Harry Potter, watching the films and reading the books. Apparently the royal family is also a fan of the popular series.

3. She's just like us.

It must be surreal to be raised by the future king and queen of England. But it seems that George and Charlotte are being given a pretty "normal" childhood considering who their parents are.

4. She knows how to have a good time.

Just because she's a princess doesn't mean she can't have a little bit of fun once in a while. Even when cameras are watching, Kate shows that she doesn't care what others think.

5. Even Kate likes playing with the parachute.

The parachute, a staple of elementary school gym. Whenever we saw the parachute in the corner, we knew it was going to be a good day. It looks like Kate loves "parachute day" just as much as we do.

6. American Royalty and British Royalty.

Two iconic couples in one iconic moment, what else could you need?

7. She has no problem supporting her team.

The whole world was watching the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. While we watched history be made and records broken. We couldn't help but to notice Will and Kate's excitement from the stands.

8. Fairytales do exist.

Every girl dreams of marrying her prince charming and becoming a princess. Fairytales aren't just in books and movies anymore, dreams can come true.

9. Picture perfect family.

Will and Kate are already the picture perfect couple. Add in George and Charlotte and you have one of the most picture perfect and adorable families known to man.

10. She's quickly becoming a fashion icon.

It's always exciting to see what Kate will wear at her next outing. From wearing jeans to the Olympics to this beautiful gown, we can't but help to consider the princess a fashion icon.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
