One thing is for certain, Halloween at Hogwarts is never a boring occasion. The only thing better than attending a magical school is celebrating holidays in high, magical style. Many of us that grew up reading the "Harry Potter" series have wished for nothing more than for our Hogwarts letters to arrive, inviting us to study at the mysterious, magical, castle. Our most cherished chapters often reflect the beautiful style, unique traditions and wild adventures of Halloween that J.K. Rowling dreamed up.
Harry's first Halloween will always be one of the most memorable events of the first novel, especially with it's magnificent decor.
"A thousand live bats fluttered from the ceiling, while a thousand more swooped over the tables in low black clouds making the candles in the pumpkins stutter" — "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone"
And its shocking adventure ensured we would never forget this day.
"'Troll—in the dungeons—thought you ought to know.' He then sank to the floor in a dead faint." — "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone"
But it didn't turn out to be an all bad day.
"But from that moment on, Hermione Granger became their friend. There are some things you can't share without ending up liking each other, and knocking out a twelve-foot mountain troll is one of them." — "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone"
During his second year, Harry promises his ghost friend, Nearly Headless Nick, that he would make an appearance at his Five Hundredth Death Day Party on Hallows Eve.
"I'm holding a party down in one of the roomier dungeons. Friends will be coming from all over the country. It would be such an honor if you would attend." — "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets."
We suppose that Harry learned his lesson about attending ghost parties after this...
Though the day did get worse. Harry found the bloodied writing on the wall, which cast immediate suspicion at him.
Celebrating Halloween at Hogwarts will always be a desperate desire within our hearts.
