It was about time that we had a huge breakthrough in the BLM movement when people finally started talking about victims like George Floyd and Breonna Taylor on a much larger scale.

However, people are too quick to forget and move on while Black people across America are still being treated with injustice by the police. Here's a new name that you won't want to forget: Jacob Blake. On Sunday, August 23, Blake was shot in the back seven times as he was getting into his car, while his children were just feet away. Thankfully, his story is unlike many others. He survived. He is currently in the hospital and his family reports that he is in stable condition.

With witnesses and our victim still alive, hopefully this means that there is a much greater chance of getting justice for the police officers in Kenosha, Wisconsin who were part of such a great injustice.

Remember, we still need justice for the murderers of Breonna Taylor. Remember some of the names of the Black people who died at the hands of police officers this year.

Manuel "Mannie" Elijah Ellis.

Breonna Taylor.

Michael Brent Charles Ramos.

Dreasjon "Sean" Reed.

George Perry Floyd.

David McAtee.

And there are others. Thankfully, Jacob Blake does not join that list. But we cannot fall back into silence. Say their names. Do not forget them. They deserve justice.

I thought senioritis in high school was rough until I became a college senior about to go into the real world. I'm supposed to have everything figured out, right? I mean I went through four years of tough classes and serious self-searching (and crying). What I found overall was Senioritis sneaking up on me.

College is filled with many things, and we're so often lectured to make the right decisions as we head out on our own into the college life. But sometimes it's necessary to indulge in some guilty pleasures as well as just doing things because you can. And honestly, a lot of the time it's inevitable. College is no piece of cake that's for sure, so it's okay to do some things you deep down know you shouldn't....once in a while anyways.
