I can't fault my younger self for thinking that my dad was Goofy, but you know, a human, live-action version. He is easily the tallest, goofiest, loudest, and kindest man I have ever known.
However, I'm not the only person who sees their dad like that, and I think A Goofy Movie is a tribute to that. If you're looking film to watch on Father's Day, this is a good option.
One of the reasons I love this movie so much is that while it acknowledges how frustrating and embarrassing family can be. It goes back to remind us that love does not and should not insist upon the trappings of normalcy -- often, it is most transparently shown in an introduction to the proverbial cherished fishing spot.
