Why I want to Travel the World
braincandypodcast.com

Wanderlust is a strong desire to travel to unknown places and explore the world is something that many feel as we are stuck in the same mundane life. Countries such as Africa, Asia, and Europe offer more world experience and people that are complex, and therefore interesting to learn. There are many reasons as to why I want to travel the world, but there are a few that stand out the most.

I want to see where the world first started. The Ottoman Empire, the Greeks, the Romans, the Elizabethan Age, the French Revolution, World War I & II, and many other historical moments took place in all of Europe. There has been many lives taken and restored on the European soil that it is incredible to step foot near the Eiffel Tower, the Berlin Wall, the Louvre, and every other monument knowing that these are pieces of art that were once inspired by war or peace. These places are where the world started and is the life of every one of our ancestors, and that right there is a huge reason as to why I want to travel the world.

The next reason why I want to travel the world is the food. Food is the basis of culture for the entire world and tasting the freshness of Italian pizza, French escargot, Ireland’s Guinness, Australia’s fresh seafood, Japanese sushi, and more. These foods are the basis of their culture and tasting it fresh out of the water or fresh from the market is the best way to learn of that culture. Each culture has its own way of life, but food is a main priority of all of these cultures. As seen in Eat. Pray. Love. there is no better way to experience life and travel than to eat.

The last reason why I want to travel the world is to meet others. Meeting people who are different in ethnicities, socioeconomic status, and from different countries can be an eye opening experience. These people that you come across on your travels can become a life long friend, lover, or short-term companion and have the ability to open your eyes to a world that you have never known. A huge reason to travel is to meet this different people and understand life for them is not the same as yours, but creating a relationship is not impossible due to that.

Overall, the desire to travel the world stems from wanting to learn. I want to learn about every culture, I want to learn to come to terms with life abroad, but most of all I want to learn about myself. I want to learn about who I am from the experience of opening my eyes to world that is outside my home.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
