I've always loved helping people and honestly never thought I would be studying education in college, but here I am to tell y'all why I want to teach little humans.
I could list a whole bunch of reasons why I want to become a teacher, but in all reality, it comes down to the fact that I want to make a difference in each one of my students' lives. A lot of people do not want to go into education because of the salary, but to me it is not about the money, I want to make a difference in a child's life. When thinking back to why I enjoyed school so much as a child it was because of the profound impact the teachers had on my life. If my teachers could help build me up and believe in myself, how much can I do for other students?
As teachers, we may be the only person each day that a child gets love, kindness, patience, and attention from. Being a teacher is more than teaching students math, reading, writing, etc., but helping to shape them as individuals. Think about it, students spend more time with their teacher in a week than they do with their parents. Teachers have an enormous impact on their students.
I want to have students who know they are appreciated, cared for, and can do anything they set their minds to. Each child deserves that and as a teacher I want to give my students just that. So again, I could go on this list of why I want to be a teacher, but in the end it will still all come down to the fact that I want to make a difference in the lives of the children that are placed in my classroom someday.
