You might have noticed people smoking in unusual places within the last year or so. You see the smoke clouds, you know they are coming from a person because you watched them exhale, but you don't smell that typical cigarette smell. Instead, you smell something unusual like berries or maybe even something as strange as freshly baked doughnuts. Now your attention is hooked, someone smoking a doughnut? So you walk up to them and ask what exactly they are doing. Some people might respond rudely, some might just walk away, but the majority of people would look at you and simply say, "I'm vaping."

Vaping is an alternative form of traditional smoking. Over the past year, Vape shops have been popping up all around the country, becoming more mainstream, but many people do not understand what exactly vaping is. Many people believe that vaping is the same as using an E-Cigarette. While the two do share some similarities, the actual substance that the person is smoking is different. With an E-Cigarette, there is a cartridge filled with nicotine, in most cases, along with other flavoring. When a person activates the E-Cigarette, usually by pushing a small button on the battery of the device, the device heats the atomizer, a heating coil, and heats up the contents of the E-Cigarette cartage forming smoke that the person inhales. When a person Vaporizer, the person begins by filling up a small tank on the device with E-Juice. E-Juice can be found anywhere from Vape shops to gas stations. The base of E-Juice can be made with either propylene glycol or vegetable glycerin mixed with nicotine and flavoring. The tank is then attached to a battery unit that contains some type of heating coil. Smaller vaping devices, such as vape pens, will have one smaller coil. Larger devises that put out more watts, such as a "Vape Box," could have multiple coils in order to increase the speed and the amount of E-Juice being heated. Most Vapes, just like E-Cigarettes, are activated by the push of a button. The coil or coils heat up the E-Juice and form a cloud of smoke.

Vaping is becoming more popular than E-Cigarettes for three simple reasons. The first reason, the flavors of E-Juices are more diverse. Most of the E-Cigarette will only accept cartridges from the same brand as the battery so the customer is limited to only the flavors that that company makes. Vapes accept all types of E-Juices regardless of the maker. The second reason is the consistency of the nicotine. For most people either vaping or using an E-Cigarette, the person is either trying to stop smoking or cutting down the amount that they smoke. With Vapes, you buy the E-Juice with the amount of nicotine you want to have in the E-Juice. E-Cigarette carriages do not offer the same consistency of nicotine per puff and also do not have the large range of nicotine amounts offered. Lastly, more people have found success quitting or reducing the amount of cigarettes they smoke. With the ability to get the nicotine amount needed and decrease it over time, vaping just makes more sense.

The transition from living with parents to being on my own was an experience I couldn't have even imagined- both a good and a bad thing. Here's a personal archive of a few of the things I learned after going away for the first time.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.

For many undergraduates across the nation, the home stretch has begun. Only one more semester remains in our undergraduate career. Oh, the places we will go! For the majority of college seniors, this is simultaneously the best and worst year out of the past four and here’s why.

1. The classes you are taking are actually difficult.

A schedule full of easy pottery throwing and film courses is merely a myth on the average campus. With all of those prerequisites for the upper-level courses and the never-ending battle you fight each year during registration for limited class seats, senior year brings with it the ability to register for the final courses you need to fulfill your major. Yet, these are not the easy entry level courses. These are the comprehensive, end of major, capstone courses designed to apply the knowledge from all your previous courses, usually in the form of an extensive research paper or engaged learning project. The upside is you actually probably really enjoy these classes but alas there is no room for slackers here.
