Why Traveling Is So Important

Traveling is one of the most important things in life. Seeing what the world has to offer creates the most memorable experiences no matter if you travel alone, with friends, or family. Traveling lets people grow and learn about other cultures and lifestyles. One appreciates what the world has to offer. Time keeps going and places keep changing, and one needs to appreciate and understand the world around them. There are so many beautiful things in the world that there is no point to stay in one place forever.

You learn new things like new languages and new remedies. You learn to appreciate privilege and becoming spontaneous by trying new foods. You see wonders of the world that you used to dream of when you were a little kid. You begin to accept simplicity, see all perspectives, and realize how western influence changed the beauty of some countries.

Countries such as Australia, Thailand, and India are all places that are so underrated yet they have this iconic beauty to them. People just need to be adventurous and not be afraid to travel to countries such as Morocco, South Africa or Dubai that have stereotypes that ruin the beauty of what the country has to offer. People need to go out and see the world and appreciate the things we were given because one day it's all going to be gone and you're going to be sitting down wherever we all end up saying "I wish I did this, I wish I saw this," so take control and travel as much as you can.

Whether it is going on a trip with your family or friends or traveling abroad for school, take advantage of the trip. Enjoy the people, enjoy the culture, and immerse yourself into the country's best gifts.

Don't fear the stereotypical things people say – "Oh, beware of the drug lords or the viruses." Take your shots and avoid the bad corners. It is that simple. I despise people that are always like "oh, aren't Brazil and Colombia so dangerous?" Um, so are parts of Chicago, and Paris just had an attack, but people still continue to tour and visit them.

God gave us this world to enjoy it and explore it, and that is what everyone should intend on doing at some point in their lifetime.

Your 20s are a time to find and build yourself. Traveling not only does it help you find yourself, but it helps build character and independence. So travel as much as you can and love every moment of it. Try new foods, kiss new people, dance under the Northern Lights, sunbathe on the beaches of Monaco, snorkel in the Great Barrier Reef, dive off the coasts of Italy, get high in Amsterdam, ride elephants in Thailand, belly-dance in India, shop endlessly in Milan, and adventure in Dubai. The world is yours.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
