Why You Should Travel While You're Young

Because why not spend your hard-earned money on something that's actually worth it before having a mortgage to pay?

Why You Should Travel While You're Young

Some people are under certain circumstances where they cannot travel such as having to pay for bills or supporting your loved ones but if you don't fall under this category, you should definitely invest in a vacation.... here's why:

Since I was a toddler, my parents have always taken me on vacations. One after another. Which is why and how I gained my love for traveling. I wasn't just born this way...

I realized that while I don't have any bills and I'm just a full-time student in college, why not work as hard as I can and as much as I can to save up for a vacation? It'll be A LOT harder to travel the world when I have a mortgage to pay and 100 other bills along with it. What I've learned while wanting to travel so much is that it's actually a lot easier to save up for when you learn to budget.

I started out by saving my change. Instead of always using my credit or debit card, I started carrying cash on me and whenever I paid for something and got change back, I would put it in a plastic bag. I started noticing by the end of the month, I would have anywhere between $50-$150 that I had set aside in change. (Nobody likes holding onto coins and are so quick to just get rid of them. Instead, throw them in a jar somewhere in your room where it won't bother you.)

Another money saver tip: hunt through your closet and find a bunch of things that you don't care about or do want and sell them online. But make sure that you have a separate savings account that your money will automatically get stored in.

OR you can just have a certain amount of money that you have automatically put into your savings account weekly. If you put $20 in your savings account every week, you'll have $1,040 by the end of the year which is more than enough to get you going on vacation (depending on how picky you are). You can literally spend 5 days on a beautiful island for $500-600.

THE HARDEST PART: in my opinion, the hardest part in planning a vacation is finding someone to go with you. Because even if you are financially stable to plan a trip, your friends, family, or significant other might not be able to. (Share my tips with them and maybe they'll think about finding ways to save?)

Everyone deserves a vacation!

Some cheap vacation ideas:

- Road trip (All you need is a reliable car and friends to help split the gas money!)

- Puerto Rico

- Costa Rica

- Punta Cana

- Mexico

- Orlando, FL

- Las Vegas, NV (Enless you gamble... bye bye money!)

It's amazing being able to see the world in different points of view and being able to experience everything that the world has to offer!

Good luck and happy travels! xo

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

We've all been there. From move-in day to the first finals week in college, your first term is an adventure from start to finish. In honor of college decisions coming out recently, I want to recap some of the most common experiences college freshmen experience.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!

Recently I completed my freshman year of college, and boy, what an experience. It was a completely new learning environment and I can't believe how much I learned. In an effort to save time, here are the ten biggest lessons I learned from my first year of college.

1. Everyone is in the same boat

For me, the scariest part of starting school was that I was alone, that I wouldn't be able to make any friends and that I would stick out. Despite being told time and time again that everyone had these same feelings, it didn't really click until the first day when I saw all the other freshman looking as uneasy and uncomfortable as me. Therefore, I cannot stress this enough, everyone is feeling as nervous as you.
