Most best-friendships consist of what seems like endless time spent together and the familiarity of seeing each other's faces almost every day. But one of my very best and longest friendships is with someone that I would sometimes get to see every few months, and now only about once a year. And although the times we get to see each other are infrequent, the past five years of being long-distance best friends has shown us that we could remain just as close and inseparable as any other friends. And here's why:
1. I can tell her anything with full trust.
2. She's never met most of the people I talk about, so her advice is always genuine.
3. Our friendship is based on texts and phone calls, so we have the best conversations.
4. We never have to worry about outside interference with our friendship.
5. We can not talk for a week but somehow still catch up like no time has passed.
6. Not seeing each other a lot makes it all the more fun when we do get to hang out.
7. Because we have to travel to see each other, we get to introduce each other to new places and explore them together.
8. We know about the people in each other's lives as if they were a part of our own.
9. We care about the events going on in each other's lives and cheer each other on.
10. No matter how much times passes, we never forget that we're just one phone call away.
11. We can always look forward to seeing each other again.
