I was watching SportsCenter today and they discussed the Finals. Here's what I WISH someone would have the balls to say.
It's safe to say everyone loves an underdog situation. People who root for a certain team also enjoy being able to watch a team's comeback after being in a slump. There are superstars coming out of college each year that are number one picks and can make a team for years to come. Watch the NFL draft and adopt that.
In the 2015-2016 regular season, the Warriors set the best regular season record going 73-9. It's safe to say that had an incredible team exploding with talent. They went on to lose in Game Seven of the NBA Finals to the Cavaliers or, let's call a spade a spade, LeBron James.
Present day: they still have a dynamic team, but let's put other teams at an unfair advantage and ALLOW Kevin Durant to go to Golden State. There is something wrong with this picture. Kevin Durant spent his entire career with Oklahoma City (Seattle SuperSonics) just to leave them high and dry to go to the team that knocked them out of the playoffs. I get it, so did Lebron with the Heat. But Bosh and Wade were not players in their prime.
Kevin Durant isn't some mediocre player. He is talented by himself and going to a team with three super stars is an insecure move.
Honestly, it's pathetic.
Go back to 2011 when David Stern denied Chris Paul from going to the Lakers. Perhaps Adam Silver could take a lesson from the former NBA Commissioner.
We all know why the Golden State Warriors feel the need to have four power houses on their team and it's strictly for revenge and to beat LeBron, which is a situation that should have never been allowed (almost like the NBA doesn't want him to win again). As a player, wouldn't you feel like your worth is being questioned? In the great Jordan-or-James debate, the Golden State Warriors indirectly voted in favor of LeBron.
Superstar teams were not allowed to beat Jordan or Kobe, so why are they being allowed now when a man's legacy is at stake?
If the Warriors win, they shouldn't celebrate. You didn't win. It took you having four all-star players to beat one man. You want to celebrate the fact that he is four times the player you will ever be? Then go right ahead. It's just not something I would be bragging about, with the championship title or not. We all know if you had just three great players, you wouldn't beat him.
