When people hear that you attend the University of Arizona they automatically think you're going for the party scene. Yes, U of A is known for its greek life, attractive students and its infamous "I'm Shmacked" videos, but it also strives in some of the most prestigious academics in our nation.

The U of A prides itself in its high academic rating. According to US News & World Report, The University of Arizona is ranked #121 for national universities. 121 may not seem like the highest number, but there are tons of schools in our country, I'd say that is a pretty high number considering how many Universities are in America. Just an FYI, Arizona State University is ranked at #129, BEAR DOWN!

Arizona's business school, the Eller College of Management is just one of the great academic programs U of A offers. The Eller College of Management is the 60th best business school in the country by US News & World Report. The hype doesn't end there. Eller is ranked #5 in the country in Informational Systems. This ranking is two rankings above Stanford University and four above the prestigious Ivy League, University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School. Eller also offers one of the only entrepreneurship programs in the country, the award-winning McGuire Entrepreneurship Program. Now if that doesn't show leading academics, I don't know what does.

Another prestigious academic program the U of A is known for is our College of Engineering. The College of Engineering is extremely unique. This school offers 14 different engineering majors within the school. From Aerospace Engineering, Mining Engineering to Systems Engineering, they have everything an engineer can ever want in a major. These majors are known to be some of the highest-paying college majors. According to Forbes, the fifth highest paying college major is Mining and Mineral Engineering which is a highly ranked program in the U of A's College of Engineering.

These two colleges at the U of A are just two of the many amazing academic programs U of A has to offer. Students that graduate from The U of A have a high success rate in life. Some of the U of A's famous alumni include Jerry Bruckheimer (producer of CSI, Top Gun), Terry J Lundgren, (CEO, Chairman of the Board, President, and Director at Macy’s Inc.), Steve Kerr (Golden State Worriers Head Coach) and many more. So, the next time you're thinking about calling the University of Arizona just a "party school," think about all of the exceptional academics this great institution has to offer. And with that, BEAR DOWN BABY!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
