We're all thinking it, right?

After experiencing every region of the United States, I can hands down say that my home of the southeast (more specifically, Charlotte, North Carolina) is the champion. If you disagree with me, please read on and let me change your mind. If you agree with me, please read on and experience the joy that the southeast brings.

1. You don't get five miserable months of winter

Giphy

Yes, we get the occasional snowstorm in December and January, but it's not too much that you get sick and tired of it. There's ALWAYS the possibility of a white Christmas, plus you don't have to worry about your travel plans being cancelled due to snow. And most importantly, in March it's finally turning to the 60s and 70s instead of remaining in the unbearable 20s and 30s like the north.

2. The college football scene is hype

Giphy

Georgia, Bama, Auburn, Ole Miss, USC -- basically the entire SEC conference is never ending excitement.

3. The sun is out longer than in the north

Giphy

You won't get the winter blues from being shut inside AND you can maintain a nice tan year round.

4. The food is A1

Giphy

Everything in the southeast is delicious. It comes fried, iced, and steamed with sweet tea on the side and probably some huge biscuits. You can't beat home cooked southern food, and you really can't beat Chick Fil A, Cookout, Zaxby's, or Bojangle's.

5. It's affordable to live here

Giphy

Did you know that the southeast is the most affordable region to live in the US? AND that you get more land for your money?

6. There are adorable towns everywhere

Giphy

Charleston, Greenville, Asheville, Athens, and Greensboro just to name a few. You don't have to go to a huge city to have a fun time.

7. Florida beaches

Giphy

They may be second to Hawaiian or California beaches, but you don't have to fly across the entire continental US to get there, and they're just as beautiful and practical.

8. Everyone isn't constantly in a rush

Giphy

Here in the south, people don't try and run you over as you're crossing the street because they're late to work. People tend to be much more laid back and go with the flow.

9. People tend to be better drivers

Giphy

I'm really sorry, but it's just true.

10. The Appalachian Mountains

Giphy

We've got beaches AND mountains here in the southeastern US. The Appalachians run through West Virginia, Virginia, NC, SC, GA, and even part of Alabama. Once you get tired of the beach on the coast, it's just a small drive to skiing and hiking.

11. Landmarks

Giphy

There's the Coca Cola Factory in Atlanta (who doesn't love a good soda sampling), the largest aquarium in the US in Georgia, Disney World and Epcot and Universal in Orlando, and of course, Miami itself (the cruise capital of the world).

12. Mardi Gras

Giphy

Ever been to New Orleans for Mardi Gras? It's a once in a lifetime experience you can only get here in the southeast.

13. NASCAR

Giphy

Here in the south, NASCAR is a big deal. It's fun to watch and gives you an excuse to pregame with your friends at the racetrack.

14. Two words: southern hospitality

Giphy

If you've heard of southern hospitality and think it's not real, I can guarantee you're wrong. People are always holding doors, saying "bless your heart", making you feel welcome, and bringing you as much food as you want. It's no joke.

As you can see, the southeast is pretty amazing. People can trash it all they want, but us true southerners know how amazing it is. Next time you need to plan a vacation, I think you know where you should go.

With that, thanks for reading, y'all!

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. You feel like you will have never-ending classwork to catch up on if you miss class, so you end up going sick and then it just takes longer to get better. Being sick in college is really tough and definitely not a fun experience. Here are the 15 stages that everyone ends up going through when they are sick at college.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
