If you need any reason to watch a new show, check out The Golden Girls. It's funny, down right hilarious if you ask me, and it was way ahead of its' time! If you need a pick me up, I highly recommend watching this, and here's why!

Dorothy, Blanche, Rose, and Sophia will crack you up!

Giphy

There are just too many good one liners from these gals to not make you laugh!

The Golden Girls was way ahead of its’ time, showing and talking about issues most shows in the 80s would never think of doing.

Giphy

The Golden Girls talked about racism, interracial relationships, sexuality, alzheimer’s, deportation of immigrants, single motherhood within in vitro, dangerous relationships, abuse, etc.

It shows an adorable mother-daughter relationship between Dorothy and Sophia.

Giphy

I love watching these two, and even though they give each other some trouble, and a lot of it sometimes, they love each other and show it often.

The Golden Girls show older, strong women and it’s awesome!

Giphy

We love strong women! Young and old! They are great role models! Stick to your guns, love hard, speak your mind, work hard, have fun!

The girls’ relationship!

Giphy

I pray to grow old with my close friends and maybe even live with them someday, if it were to ever come to that. They show me loyalty to one another, through good times and the bad, and they love each other unconditionally.

Betty freaking White.

Giphy

Okay, who doesn’t love Betty White? She’s perfect and even though I’m such a Dorothy, Rose is by far my favorite character!

I sure do hope that you give this show a try if you haven't already, you won't regret it!

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
