When you think about going away for the weekend a lot of people think about going to the city or just grabbing a hotel room pretty much anywhere to relax. Not many people do much research to find a great play to go for the weekend and just get away from all the craziness. But if you ask me the Pocono Mountains is pretty much the perfect getaway for anyone who needs to be away from New York for just a couple of days.
When you think about the Poconos you think about the trees and just being in the middle of nowhere with nothing to do but believe it or not there is so much to do that you would never know about.
If you want to go hiking you can always head over to Bushkill Falls. Bushkill Falls in one of the most beautiful places to go hiking. The trails are pre-made out of wood and staircases to make it easy to see everything and it is a pretty good workout. The falls consist of 7 different waterfalls and 4 different scenic trails to hike on. It is definitely a site to see.
If you want to just relax for the day and go to a quick massage you can head over to the Mount Airy Casino and Resort for a nice massage at their spa on site which includes amazing specialist to fit your every need. And while there you can make your way to the casino to do some gambling and one of the nice things about the casino is that if you're gambling all drinks are free.
There are many other lodges in the Poconos including Great Wolf lodge and many other indoor water parks. It's even great for the winter when the outdoor water parks are closed you can still get the thrill of it being summer and heading to the water park without waiting for summer to come along.
Along with the lodges and relaxation and hiking trails, there are many other things to do outdoors. You can go quadding, kayaking, zip lining, there are some tree tops courses, and places where you can do some indoor go-karting as well.
There is never not something to do when you are visiting the Pocono Mountains. If it's raining outside, don't worry because you can visit an indoor water park and if it is beautiful outside you can go fishing or even hit the falls for some hiking. What makes the Pocono Mountains even better than what they have to do is the scenic views that you get just driving down local roads. There is always a sight to see and something to be amazed by. You may feel like you are in the middle of no where but in that middle of no where there are millions of things to do that you just may not know about.
