For a guy who doesn't really get into TV series, I have still found some TV shows that have made me feel good about myself after watching or have had some great stories behind them. Shows like The Sopranos, How I Met Your Mother, and even That 70's Show. But nothing will ever top my love for in my opinion one of the greatest shows on Earth. That show is The Office. The Office is a mockumentary about typical office workers going through the daily routine of being at work at the Dunder Mifflin Paper Company in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Based off of the BBC Series, it revolves around Regional Manager Michael Scott who is played by the great Steve Carell. They show the daily shenanigans that the Office goes through with office romances, pranks, and killer quotes that we have grown to remember and love that have been said by many of these funny characters. This show started the careers of the likes of John Krasinski, Rainn Wilson, Jenna Fischer, Ed Helms, Craig T. Robinson, and Mindy Kaling. It also has had appearances made by Will Ferrell, Rashida Jones, James Spader, Idris Elba, and Kathy Bates.
The show started out 2005 with the First Season airing only 6 episodes. NBC would let them come back another full season with more episodes to see if they would be worth keeping on TV. Early on, their ratings were not the best, but because Steve Carell is a master of improvising and absolutely hilarious, he kept the show going and put The Office on the map with his Golden Globe win for Best actor in a TV Series for Comedies. That same year, The Office won a Primetime Emmy for outstanding Comedy series and the show got rolling. Ratings were higher and the characters were getting more love than ever with the fan base growing. Michael Scott would go on to do 5 more seasons and then his character left the show in Season 7 after proposing to HR Rep Holly and moving to Colorado with her. The show would continue on for two more seasons, until the series finally ended in 2013 with an amazing finale that tied everything together.
Many appearances were made from actors who had been in the show early on and it was the most emotional series finale I have ever seen in my life. According to IMDB, the Finale episode is the highest rated episode of The Office, right in front of Goodbye, Michael which was his last episode of being Regional Manager at Dunder Mifflin. The Office had 9 great seasons with some of the most memorable episodes ever. In my opinion, Season 3 was possibly the best season of all of them with the cliff hanger it left by the end of the season and all of the laughs it brought in between and office romance that we got to witness. I highly recommend this show to anyone who hasn't seen it. Without a doubt, you will laugh from start to finish with this series, and you will appreciate what The Office has to offer.
