For those of you who haven't heard, Ohio lawmakers passed a bill on Tuesday that would prohibit abortion as soon as the fetal heartbeat can be detected, which is around 6 weeks into a pregnancy. Not only does this bill violate law already put into place, it's also utter bullshit and I'm going to tell you why.

1. Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey

The Roe v. Wade court case is a landmark decision by the United States Supreme Court on the issue of abortion, which shouldn't really be an issue in the first place. In the case, a Texas resident wanted to terminate her pregnancy by abortion, which Texas law prohibited, except in situations where it would save a woman's life. The big question of the whole case was if the Constitution embraced a woman's right to terminate her pregnancy by abortion. The Court decided that a woman's right to an abortion fell within the right to privacy, which is protected by the 14th amendment. The ruling of Roe v. Wade gave a woman the right to have an abortion.

Later, in 1993, the case of Planned Parenthood v. Casey, the Supreme Court rejected the decision of Roe v. Wade based on the trimester framework of the ruling, and decided that a woman has the right to an abortion until fetal viability, which is when the fetus will be able to survive outside of the uterus, which may occur around 22-24 weeks.

So not only would this "Heartbeat" Bill violate Roe v. Wade rulings, it would also violate the rulings of Planned Parenthood v. Casey.

2. The confusing art that is a woman's body

The bill proposes that a woman may have an abortion up until the point of fetal heartbeat, which is about 6 weeks. For those of you that don't know, the majority of women who become pregnant don't even find out that they ARE pregnant until 5 or 6 weeks. Some women can even go months not knowing they're pregnant for a number of reasons, such as irregular periods, which about 30% of women have, spotting, infertility, not gaining weight, or not showing other signs of pregnancy. This bill takes away a woman's right to choose before she even realizes she has something to choose about, which is so fucked up.

3. My body and my body only

Are we really still believing that women are inferior? Let's all stop for a second and think. Women are not here to fulfill anyones needs but their own. Women are not here to be a baby-making factory. We're not here to cook or clean or do shit for anyone like your mamas did when you were children. We are human, just like you. And just like you, we have a right to OUR OWN BODIES and nobody will take that right from us. So no, you don't own us. And yes, if we want to have a goddamn abortion, we will. Because our bodies, our choice.

4. Banning abortion isn't going to stop us from having them

Just like prohibition didn't stop people from drinking, banning abortion won't stop women from finding people to preform them, or preforming them on themselves. What banning abortion will do is make abortions unsafe and probably cause thousands of women to die from unsafe abortions due to the fact that they no longer have the right to choose for themselves.

So, in conclusion, fuck the Heartbeat bill and all it stands for, let women do what they want with their bodies, and stop being dicks. Thank you for your time.

Dear High School Friend Group,

My sweet angels, where would I be without you guys. We all grew up together because we either met in middle school or high school and watched each other grow up and get "old." We got to go to prom together and then graduate together. Then watched each other as we continued our lives in college, joining sororities and meeting people who will impact our lives forever. It all has happened so fast.

Oh college, we can’t live with you, but we can’t live without you. It’s a love/hate relationship, really. College is an experience that no one can ever prepare you for, and maybe that’s a good thing. You never really expect any of the things that college encompasses until you are there. College is fun, but don’t have too much fun. C’s get degrees, but they don’t get you into graduate school.

Blair Waldorf

The "Gossip Girl" series may be over, but Blair Waldorf's iconic character lives in our hearts forever. Blair was the queen of the Upper East Side, and a character you either loved or hated. She taught us everything we needed to know about life, love and of course, how to score a Chuck Bass. So the next time you feel a bit lost and are in need of guidance, look no further than to the Queen B herself.

As I spend my Sunday avoiding my homework and other adult responsibilities, I realized that I've watched this series over and over about a million times. Sadly, there isn't a Blair quote I don't know, so I came up with a list of a few favorites. You know you love her...xoxo
