Why The Braves Will Make The Playoffs In 2017
Atlanta Braves

You might think I'm crazy but it's a realistic goal!

1.) Freddie Freeman

You may not know it but Freddie Freeman has been having a great year! He has passed his career high in home runs and the season isn't over! Freeman is also the leader of the team and the face of the franchise (for now). He is also an above average 1st Baseman defensively. He has been with the Braves for his whole career and is a veteran in the clubhouse

2.) Calling up the Prospects.

The reason why the Braves hold the worst record in the MLB is because they traded away many of their core players including Jason Heyward, Justin Upton, Creig Kimbrel, and Andrelton Simmons. With these players being traded this allowed the Braves to completely rebuild their team. They aquired many prospects in doing so. When the Braves traded Jason Heyward they got Shelby Miller and he had a great 2015 season, but then he was traded. The Braves have aquired names like Dansby Swanson, Sean Newcomb and Tyrell Jenkins. These prospects will be in the Majors if they are not already. Tyrell and Dansby have made appearances in this season. There are other top prospects that the Braves have in their arsenal in 2017.

3.) They have spending money

The Braves have unloaded unwanted money over the past few years and now they have money to spend in the offseason that they can use to upgrade the team! They can get more help in the positions where they lack.

4.) The Veterans

Matt Kemp and Nick Markakis are the veterans and they have been good players ever since they joined the league! They are also very resourceful with their experience on the field and can add much needed support to the rookies and the younger guys. Kemp was traded to the Braves from the Padres and he has the potential to get back to his 2012 form. Where he finished second in the MVP race!

5.) Julio Tehran

Tehran is the ace of the pitching staff and he is one of the best in the NL with that he add a much needed six-plus innings work each night he pitches! He will also be good to help the young pitchers develop their game.

6.) The New Stadium

The front office of the Braves wants to put together a winning team for the new staldium (SunTrust Park) set to open in 2017! What better way to fill the seats by putting a winning team on the field?

7.) Chipper Jones Return?!

Not as a player but as the manager! The Braves have a temporary manager in place but there have been reports that the Braves may offer the job to Chipper! Chipper isn't sure if he would be willing to be the manager but with the help of Freeman trying to convince his good friend to join the team as the manager, it may work!

Let's hope I predict this correctly

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
