As the NFL season is mere weeks away to kickoff, football fans alike are preparing their fantasy football roster, tailgate recipes, and not to mention arranging their schedule to never miss their team play on Sundays. However, it is known that throughout the off-season, one team has been on everybody's radar, and is expected to be the number one contender to win the Superbowl in 2017. Who would that team be? None other than the Arizona Cardinals, who really are the best team in the NFL.
Now what makes the Arizona Cardinals the best team in not only the NFC, but the best in the NFL overall? Could it be the dominate defense squad of the "No Fly Zone" that includes both Patrick Peterson and "Honey Badger" Tyrann Mathieu? Or could it be the #1 offense overall starting veteran QB Carson Palmer, with his co-stars Larry Fitzgerald, Michael Floyd and rising star David Johnson? Maybe it is the genius mind of the "Quarterback Whisperer" head coach Bruce Arians who recreated a struggling Cardinals out of the 2012-2013 season into the dominate force the Cards are throughout this oncoming NFL season? The answer is, yes to all! The Arizona Cardinals are the best team in the NFL for not just one aspect of a certain roster, but rather how well-rounded the entire franchise can perform. That's right, not just the team, but the fans and management as well!
As an Arizonan, it was a curiosity to wonder what it is like to live in a football town like Green Bay or Pittsburgh. It's no lie that the Cardinals went through decades of struggle being shy of the Lombardi, in fact, I am still hurt about that Holmes play from Super Bowl XLIII. But the fact remained: Arizona is not only dry in season, but also dry from championships. Even with the struggle from the move from St. Louis to the disappointment QB string between Warner and Palmer, Cardinal fans remained dedicated to their team. The rest of the country didn't think highly of this small team out of Arizona during the hard times, but once the Cards started to become a winning team, the bandwagon started coming in hot. Now bandwagoning is nothing new in football in an era full of dynasties, yet most Cardinal fans are always the Arizonans that stayed through hard times and not fair weather fans from a different state. (Much like most Carolina Panther fans *cough cough*). It's claimed that the Arizona Cardinals have the most bandwagon fans, only because it can easily be mistaken by how the University of Phoenix stadium is always sold out each game. The problem isn't that Cardinal fans are mostly bandwagoners, it's just that Cards fans are extremely passionate about their team, much like Cheeseheads.
So what makes the Arizona Cardinals the best team in the NFL? For a simple explanation, it is the Cardinal culture that was built in Arizona. This culture can be seen through the amazing chemistry between both offensive and defensive teams that isn't seen in most NFL locker rooms. (I don't remember Carson Palmer getting into a scuffle with any defensive back). It's also seen throughout the state of Arizona every game day, venues full of red and even fans wearing their jerseys to church services. No matter if you've been a Cardinals fan since the beginning in the 1970s, or last year, faces light up when it is kickoff. It's safe to say that Arizona is a football state..,no matter who you are, as an Arizonan we all get together to become the Red Sea to Rise!
