They've been on for 9 years for a reason.

It's almost 2017, which will mark 10 years of one of the most talked about reality shows in the world. Some would say this controversial family does not deserve the fame they've gotten, while others like me would argue that this family is worth the watch.

MTV, E!, VH1, TLC, Bravo, and Oxygen have created several reality TV shows that display the lives of families that offer viewers a little extra drama in their lives. The Kardashian family displays every aspect of our country that most people won't admit that they also display. I always question internet bashers and negative tabloid articles because of their constant issuing of Kardashian topics. Clearly, if this show has been on for almost 10 years they're doing something right, but most people just won't admit that.

An argument that most Kardashian-haters often make is the releasing of Kim's sex tape being the rise to stardom for this family. We have seen numerous celebrities have to deal with the media's reaction to the release of their sex tape, yet Kim Kardashian-West happens to be the one that sticks out in everyone's mind. Let's not forget that Kim was only a co-star in this tape. Before 2007, Kim was known as the daughter of a prestigious attorney that was the stylist/assistant of Paris Hilton who appeared on the show "The Simple Life" from time to time. Her co-star Ray J, happened to be a popular star for many young teenagers in the late 90's and early 2000's who remained being featured on TV and released music, but we haven't heard bashing of him for his part in this tape after nine years like Kim does.

People make the statement that this family is not a positive example for their younger viewers. To me, a role model is someone that successfully makes a life for themselves while also picking themselves up from mistakes and using their lessons for the greater good. Put a hold on your disapproving attitude of people with plastic surgery and multi-million dollar homes and think about it. Each one of them has to see all of the hateful things people say in the tabloids and on social media, but they still manage to continue their success. This family grows stronger and stronger every season while the articles continue to get more horrid each article.

This show is worth watching because it is a figurative slap in the face to the hatefulness of the media and how people take so much time out of their days to take part in whatever negative conversation is going on that day. I have a question to today's society and the actions of some with media.

Do you realize that the more hate you display towards someone who is being talked about in the media, you are just giving that person or subject even more success and attention?

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
