Tallest in the country. And you can't deny it, that skyline is breathtaking.
6. Hipsters are welcome, too!
STL isn't all history. The Loop is a neighborhood with funky and unique restaurants and stores, as well as a concert venue. Numerous celebrities have visited Blueberry Hill, a popular restaurant in the Loop.
7. We're known for our pizza.
It ain't called "the square beyond compare" for nothing. This paper-thin pizza beats Chicago-style any day of the week.
8. We have one of the best zoos in the country.
The St. Louis Zoo is renowned for being one of the best in the United States. The zoo is constantly adding new attractions and has a diverse collection of animals. Besides that, do I need to remind you that it's free?
9. Forest Park is a beautiful place to walk through.
Whether you're a tourist or you've been there a thousand times, you'll appreciate the beauty of such a large and beautiful green space in a city--Forest Park is larger than Central Park in New York City by 33 percent. You'll likely see several wedding parties there during your visit. It's also home to the Jewel Box, a stunning greenhouse (pictured on the right), and The Muny amphitheater.
10. To-die-for Italian food.
Visit The Hill, St. Louis' Italian neighborhood, for some of the best restaurants in the city. You can also taste a St. Louis delicacy, toasted ravioli. Yes, it's as good as it looks.
