5 Reasons Why Spring Is The Best

As winter is coming to an end, spring is upon us, along with warmer days ahead. There are some lessons seasonal change is able to teach us. Spring is one of the most hopeful times of the year. It can teach us that every ending is a new opportunity to grow. Just look at the world that surrounds us each spring. We see naked trees grow back their beautiful green leaves right in front of our eyes. We see flowers bloom the brightest colors. For the first time in months, there is no snow or ice on the ground, and it's not unbearably cold every time you leave the door. It's the perfect feeling waking up and hearing the birds chirping.

1. You feel happier.

People are generally happier when spring comes. It's the best when everyone wants to be outside enjoying the day. Suddenly, while walking around campus, everyone is smiling and feeling a little less stressed. Sunlight increases serotonin in your brain, which scientifically makes you feel happier. You also feel more energized because exposure to sunlight decreases the chemical melatonin in your body during the day and increases at night. This equals a better night's sleep.

2. Spring wardrobe.

Let's just discuss your spring wardrobe. Finally, after months of being bundled up in sweaters and heavy coats, we get the option to have a new closet full of fun, light spring dresses. Spring fashion gives us the feeling of fun and lightness. No jackets and just light sweaters is the best weather. The colors of spring fashion will also leave you feeling fresh and bright.

3. Fresh fruit and vegetables.

You can finally go to the grocery store and buy fresh fruit and vegetables. All our favorites are finally getting back in season!

4. Fresh air.

Being able to open the windows allows you to feel a fresh breeze to refresh your home. It's also a great feeling to not have such dry air from the constant heat that is on all winter.

5. New season, new you.

While doing some spring cleaning, shed your life of any negativity. Not only is this a perfect time to get rid of old items and clothes that are taking up space in your closet, but you can use the new season to give yourself a fresh start. Try a new hairstyle or buy a new lipstick. Make a plan for what you want your spring to be. After all, life is what you make it.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).
