Summer vacation: a break from school for most of us, lots of working, hometown people and home-cooked meals. Now this three month break is wonderful, don't get me wrong, but it seems as though some college students slump into the mid-summer blues. I've heard it's pretty normal. It's not like we miss the early classes, homework or tests, we just want to get back into the swing of things. These are some reasons why we're ready to go back:

1. Chores

At home, you can no longer wash your clothes or the dishes whenever you want — when mom calls, you run. You're ready to go back to putting off responsibilities until you're ready to do them, it's just your way of doing things.

2. Freedom

You miss leaving your dorm/apartment whenever you want. When you came home you had to get used to telling people where you were going and what time you were planning on getting home or if you were coming home at all. During school you didn't have to check in or be home by a certain curfew, and you miss that sweet, sweet freedom.

3. Boredom

OK, you just got out of school and you can't wait to go on all kinds of summer adventures and do really fun summer stuff...July is here you accomplished maybe two things on your summer fun list and now you're home in bed watching Netflix. You feel lazy, there's no math homework keeping you up until 2 a.m., no social exchanges to go to.. what is there to do? You kind of miss being busy.

4. Organization

Now this one doesn't apply to every college student, but some really miss this in a nerdy way. You sort of miss writing down every possible thing you have to do in you perfect planner. You also might miss highlighting everything you accomplished that day. You're ready to be back in control and organized.

5. College Friends

And one of the absolute hardest things your going through right now is being away from your new college friends. How are you surviving right now without them? You miss seeing and hanging out with them almost every day. You can't wait to run into their arms and hang out ASAP.

6. Wearing whatever you want

If you're like me and you wore norts (Nike shorts) and a big T-shirt everyday to class, you're kind of used to that now. Since I'm home, every time I go to leave the house, maybe to run errands or something, I get a funny look from my mom following "You're wearing that?" She doesn't really like the whole "you can't tell if I'm wearing shorts at all because my shirt is so big" look. You're just ready to go back to dressing how you like.

The Battle Between College And My Mental Health

College isn't easy, and I'm afraid I'm not going to make it at the rate my mental health is going.

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?

For the average 20-something, life moves pretty fast. You’ve got classes, friends, relationships, jobs, family, and whatever else we overcommit ourselves with. I probably should have learned to say no to adding more to my schedule a long time ago, but instead here are 11 things that can be more helpful than coffee.

Resting b***h face. Defined as a person, usually a girl, who naturally looks mean when her face is expressionless, without meaning to. Many of you suffer from this "condition." You are commonly asked what's wrong, when nothing is. What people don't know is that is just your facial expression. Here are some things they wish you knew.
