Slytherin House, house of the cunning and ambitious, has been given a bad rap through the series. A majority of the Death Eaters came from Slytherin including Voldemort himself. The Slytherins are often seen as the "bad house." This is just not true! Slytherins are some of the greatest people you will ever meet and some of the greatest friends you will ever have. It's important to note that I myself am not a Slytherin but a Hufflepuff. That being said, I cannot deny that Slytherins have made up some of my closest friends.

Slytherins can be great leaders. While Hufflepuffs are oftentimes too busy trying to make everybody happy, Slytherins are the ones who will actually get things done. Every squad needs a leader, someone who can organize everyone so were not stuck in one place all night trying to figure out where to go. Sometimes you need a Slytherin around to help make decisions.

Slytherins are also known for being very protective of their friends. You might not always it, but Slytherins always have their friends' back. The reason you don't see it, they know how to get revenge on whoever was bothering you without getting caught.

We can't forget brutal honesty as an important trait with Slytherins. While it might not be fun to hear, Slytherins are only honest because they care. If you ask for an opinion on the outfit you're think about buying, they will be completely honest if it doesn't look great. They don't do it to be mean, they do it because they care.

Finally, Slytherins always try to encourage you to be your best. Slytherins are the friends who push you to do something you want, but are too afraid to do. They are the friends who will tell you that you have talent and encourage you to use it. Slytherins will not take excuses for why you won't try for your dreams because they want to see you happy. Slytherins can be the greatest friends you will ever have because they can make you a better person.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.
