Everyone has a friend or someone they know that has a boyfriend, this may even be you. If you have a boyfriend or girlfriend, I'm not saying to break up with them, I just think that you need to make sure it's a good choice. College is an experience that only happens once. You have the rest of your life to find someone for forever so you just want to make sure you get the bang for your buck. This is a time to meet all sorts of people you've never met before and create friendships that will last you a lifetime.
You aren't constrained or obligated to spend the majority of your time with them.
You have to buy things for them on holidays and birthdays .. that can get costly.
You miss out on spending time with your friends. No matter how much that wouldn't happen, it does.
It's distracting from your school work; these are the prime years to create good study habits and get a good GPA.
More freedom to do what you wanna do.
Relationships are emotionally draining. Emotionally drained + college = not a good combination.
You can't just hook up with someone random like your single friends can.
The stories, memories, and stupid decisions you make don't come from being in a relationship.
If you don't mind missing out on things and having to tend to someone day and night.. then having a relationship is for you! I have decided that for me to want to be in a relationship in college, its going to take someone that I would rather hangout with them than my any of friends because right now that is unimaginable. The friendships I have now are not worth losing.
