Since I was very young, my family and I always spent some time at Rehoboth Beach in Delaware. I call it my favorite place on the planet mostly because of the memories I made each time I went there. Most of the drive to Rehoboth was pretty rural. Corn fields, farms, and two lane roads lead our way. There wasn't much scenery on our drive, but that was okay. I enjoyed every minute of it. Then, once you hit Coastal Highway, you were about 10 minutes away. I still remember some of my favorite memories while being there and it brought such warmth to my heart. I will never forget those memories. As much as I have enjoyed my time there, here are some reasons of why Rehoboth Beach should be your summer destination:
Main Street. Everyone who has ever been there knows this street by heart. It is where most of the shops and restaurants lie for visitors to walk in and get a sense of what the town is like. My personal favorite is the shop called Bella Luna. I always have to go into the shop every time I visit.
Rehoboth Beach Public Library. It is the perfect place to come in and use their computers, for those college students taking summer classes or for those who just want to pick up a good book.
The residential houses. Since the City of Rehoboth Beach is family oriented as there is a large residential population, you can take a stroll around the neighborhoods to see all the big beautiful houses on each street. Trust me, some of them are worth staring at.
Fractured Prune. Located on coastal Highway just outside the oceanfront, is a doughnut shop that is to die for. Hot doughnuts are made in different pre-made mixed flavors that tingle your taste buds every time you take a bite. Make sure to get there early as there is usually a long line out the door.
The Point. There is a coffee and bake shop that also serves breakfast including croissants filled with eggs and other items and Belgium waffles. You can't miss it since there is a large sign outside of the restaurant and because of the usual long line out the door.
Tanger Outlets. Located on Coastal Highway, these outlets include Nike, Alex & Ani, Kate Spade, and many more popular shops. Very nice stores with many sales. The good thing about going here is that the state of Delaware has tax free shopping.
These are just some of my favorite places to stop at every time I visit Rehoboth Beach. I never miss a good opportunity to miss out on the great things that once gave me so many good memories. I cannot wait to go back there this summer and enjoy quality time with family at my favorite place on the planet. I hope this will convince you to take a road trip to Delaware to get a taste of this wonderful beach.
