Why I Prefer Cyber Monday To Black Friday

As a self proclaimed shopaholic, the weekend after Thanksgiving is one of my absolute favorite weekends of the entire year. Every store has different sales and deals that could make any fashionista fall into a discount coma. While Black Friday is certainly one of the most popular shopping days of the year, I prefer to stay home and wait to complete my shopping bucket list until that next Monday. Also known as Cyber Monday. In case you didn't know, Cyber Monday is the first Monday after Thanksgiving where stores have sales and discount codes available for use on their online websites. If you're like me and you prefer shopping online to lugging yourself to the mall, then Cyber Monday has got the deals that are right for you. Here's why I think Cyber Monday wins out over Black Friday any day:

1. I don't have to leave my house.

The best part of the online deals is that I don't have to leave my bed. I can stay at home and still get all of my holiday shopping done at awesome prices. Instead of waiting in line all day this weekend and battling through crowds of frantic shoppers, sit back, relax, and whip out your laptop. Everything on your holiday wish list is only a click away!

2. There are deals and sales you can't find in stores.

Being such an active online shopper myself, sometimes I choose to shop at websites that don't actually have a physical store. This means that when Black Friday weekend rolls around, I can't go find some of my favorite items in the stores because they're sold exclusively online. On the bright side, some stores have even better sales online than those going on in stores because they don't have actual stores themselves.

3. It's much more low-key.

Generally, online stores don't have nearly as much advertising as actual physical stores. You will see far fewer television ads in your day for online clothing websites than you will for most actual stores. This means that sometimes you can sneak in ahead of everyone else online (if you're paying close attention) and get some of the best deals on some of the best items! So make sure you're checking all your emails from your fave clothing store websites this coming holiday weekend to make sure you're up to date on all the upcoming deals!

4. There's free shipping right to your front door.

Tired of leaving the mall lugging tons of bags full of brand new goodies (even though that can be fun)? If you're like me, and you'd rather stay at home in the comfort of your own bed while you browse for some new shoes this season, then Cyber Monday is perfect for you. Why bother with all the fuss when you can get whatever great deals you want shipped directly to your front door? I'd much rather get my new purchases sent to me, hassle free.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
