Why Owning A Dog Is The Best

"I think dogs are the most amazing creatures; they give unconditional love. For me, they are the role model for being alive."
-Gilda Radner

You can never truly know how wonderful a dog is until you own one (or three). No matter how many you have, each one is different and special in their own way. They're almost like tiny people in a fur body and they bring a special joy to our lives.

1. They are always happy to see you.

There's nothing better than coming home to an adorable, excited ball of fur running at you. You could literally be gone for five minutes and they'd still be wiggling with excitement the second you get back.

2. You always have a cuddle buddy.

There's always someone there for you to snuggle with if you're sick, sad, or just in a cuddly mood. They (hopefully) won't steal all the blankets and they make a great pillow!

3. Dogs are great listeners.

You can talk and talk all you want to a dog, and they won't interrupt or tell you something you don't want to hear. And even better, they won't tell your secrets to anyone!

4. They can cheer you up.

Ever been feeling down and then you pet a dog and everything's okay? I don't know what it is about them, but they have the power to bring happiness. Maybe it's the cute ears, wiggly butt or tons of kisses, but dogs, especially puppies, are instant mood changers

5. You have your own bodyguard.

They hear every little noise and bark when people come to the door. They growl at intruders and sleep by the door or at the foot of your bed. Dogs protect their territory and their pack, which includes you.

6. You have a best friend for life.

We always hear stories about dogs rescuing their families from fires and gas leaks. It doesn't matter that we are different species-the bond is there. We've been there for our dogs when they depended on us, and they've been there for us when we need them. We feed them and give them affection, and they lick away our tears and keep us company. We've got each other's backs. Isn't that the role of a best friend?

Sorority

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
