I strongly believe that Olivia Pope is the strongest and most intelligent female protagonist on television today. Olivia Pope, played by Kerry Washington on ABC's Scandal, is a fierce boss lady who fixes the problems of those in political office in Washington D.C. Within the first episode you'll be infatuated with Olivia's charisma and her ability to get things done. Olivia is certainly Washington D.C.'s force to be reckoned with and everyone has a few things to learn from her.

Olivia is always speaking her mind and will never let any words go unspoken, no matter who it hurts and what impact it has on those around her, as long as justice is served. No matter what obstacles Olivia faces, she always lets good triumph over evil. Olivia sets a great example for viewers, she shows to always advocate for what is right and to always choose good over evil.

Along with standing up for what is right, she always advocates for worthy causes. She's been standing up for women throughout the whole run of the series and has even touched on the Black Lives Matter movement and advocated against police brutality. Even though she was not advocating for the popular belief among her peers, she still stood by her beliefs.

Olivia is always confident and is not afraid to show it; through her words, her strut and her fashion sense. No matter what Olivia is going through and the effects it may have on her. She's always on the top of her game, showing that even when things are tough to remain confident and let things fall into place.

Olivia's ability to solve problems and find loopholes is impeccable. No matter what the issue is Olivia uses critical thinking skills and her top of the line problem solving skills to fix whatever situation comes through the doors of her office.

Olivia's critical thinking skills allow her to form many plans of action for a specific situation. When "Plan A" fails Olivia always has another plan that is just waiting to be put into action. Lesson learned to always have back up plans in case of emergency.

She knows her worth and will never compromise it... even for the President of the United States... A good lesson for anyone at any stage in their life. If your job, your friends or a significant other are not truly appreciating your worth let them know that.

She's a hero to many. Olivia helps everyone that she comes across, whether it's bringing them or their loved ones justice, recovering their reputation or simply helping them with other aspects of their lives.

Olivia Pope is a role model for everyone, men and women alike. She speaks her mind, advocates for what is right, has confidence, has incredible problem solving skills, knows her worth and is a hero. I never thought I could look up to a fictional character until I came across Olivia Pope.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. Ever heard of “pain is temporary, but GPA is forever?” Pre-meds don’t just embody that motto; we live and breathe it. Here are 10 symptoms you’re down with the pre-med student syndrome.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.

One Book Made Me Question Existence In Its Entirety

"The Stranger" by Albert Campus touches upon many heavy elements... but not in the way you expect. Although it touches upon the aspects of death and love, it also deals with a hidden philosophy similar to that of nihilism.

The story follows the short life events of Meursault, a Frenchman whose carelessness for his actions eventually ends him in jail and dependent on a jury of people to judge the ethicality of his decision and the punishment that he deserves. He eventually gets the death penalty and all throughout he is nonchalant and almost apathetic towards his situation. He finally snaps when the prison sends a priest to him to absolve him of his sins and to cajole him in confessing to the lord.
