I am ready to be heard...

Have you ever tried to get a point across and you feel like you are screaming and hollering at those around you and yet nothing is being accomplished? Have you ever considered that your pen and paper will always speak louder than your lips ever will? Yup, that would be it, and this is why I decided I would write for the Odyssey. I have so many opinions, so many ideas I would love to get across, I have a dream just like Dr. Seuss's The Lorax who states "I am the Lorax I speak for the trees," well I am Taylor I speak for those in need. I want to be the voice of the voiceless, the people society overlooks, the individuals who are labeled as less due to something they are unable to control, those who are labeled broken, disabled, and that horrible "R" word (retard). Now when such terms are used within an article it is not meant to offend anyone, it is simply trying to make sure the proper word is being addressed. In anything that I throw at all of you willing to read, there is no intention to offend anyone, at all, to target anyone, at all, it simply is every d*mn opinion I have. It can be anything from how I saw a man walking his dog and that dog proceeded to go number two in the yard of someone, who it looked like spends maybe too much time on their yard, but the owner then looked to make sure no one was looking and then walked off. Well buddy someone saw; and that someone kind of wanted to hurl. Or it could be something like I am currently living through a grandmother take-over! I am blessed to still have my mother's mother (X) and stepmother (Y), and my father's mother (Z) all still present in my life (and of course my step-parents mother's but we are talking blood and in my life too long by now excluded for this time being), but I can also say that I still have my great-grandmother (W) in my life. I am currently on summer break from college and am trying to spend time with the family while I am home so I spent the day Monday of this week with Y who is cleaning out her years of history as she readies herself to move into assisted living, then that night ended with me crashing at X's house so that we could leave at 3:30 am Tuesday morning to board a plane at 7am to leave for Florida, where we will spend three weeks! Woohoo, right?! Not so much, first off no college kid wants to get up that early even to go to FL, and secondly I am great grandmother sitting in easy terms. I will stay with W for those three weeks, 90 and still kicking she is. However on Sunday I will stay the night with Z who lives there now, she may be a bad "A" biker grandmother but that is still a lot of grandma within a week! Looks like I will be on my best behavior, but trust me when I say none of my grandmothers are the definition of normal... just wait until I tell you about next week.

If I have learned one thing in my lifetime, it is that friends are a privilege. No one is required to give you their company and yet there is some sort of shared connection that keeps you together. And from that friendship, you may even find yourself lucky enough to have a few more friends, thus forming a group. Here are just a few signs that prove your current friend group is the ultimate friend group.

When it comes to television, there’s very few sets of on-screen siblings that a lot of us can relate to. Only those who have grown up with siblings knows what it feels like to fight, prank, and love a sibling. Ross and Monica Geller were definitely overbearing and overshared some things through the series of "Friends," but they captured perfectly what real siblings feel in real life. Some of their antics were funny, some were a little weird but all of them are completely relatable to brothers and sisters everywhere.

College is a great place to meet people, especially through Greek life. If you look closely at sororities, you'll quickly see there are many different types of girls you will meet.

1. The Legacy.

Her sister was a member, her mom was a member, all of her aunts were members, and her grandma was a member. She has been waiting her whole life to wear these letters and cried hysterically on bid day. Although she can act entitled at times, you can bet she is one of the most enthusiastic sisters.

Every kid in college and/or high school dreams of summer the moment they walk through the door on the first day back in September. It becomes harder and harder to focus in classes and while doing assignments as the days get closer. The winter has been lagging, the days are short and dark, and no one is quite themselves due to lack of energy and sunlight. Let's face it: life is ten times better in the summertime.
