Why No Christian Can Justify Voting for Clinton

There's one major issue that some people love to ignore.

Of course, there are many reasons...But there is only one issue which is without controversy the greatest affront to the Christian faith. I fail to see how any self-respecting Christian or morally conscientious person can support such an unabashedly pro-choice candidate. This article is in no way a defense of Trump's moral character - or even an endorsement of him as a candidate - but rather a question that every Christian needs to consider long and hard before casting their ballot this Tuesday: Will you be able to justify your vote to God?

My argument is based on one very simple premise. One which seems obvious to me but apparently is not so for everyone: being a Christian is simply incompatible with being pro-choice. I would like to give pro-choice "Christians" the benefit of the doubt, and say that they are simply ignorant of the horrors of the abortion procedures and the science that backs - not opposes - our theology. So let us begin by elucidating a few facts:

1) The fetus is a human person: At 8 weeks, all of the baby's major organs are functioning. It has a heart beat, brain waves (there is even evidence that the baby dreams at this stage), and its own fingerprint. It also has a developed nervous system, meaning that the baby can feel pain (like the pain of having its limbs ripped apart by a strong suction of a typical D&C first trimester abortion). By 21 weeks, a baby is capable of living outside of the mother's womb. If one is declared dead when the heart stops beating and the brain waves go dead, then why should one not be declared alive when they start? The baby is not just an "extension" of the mother's body. It has its own set of DNA, its own life, and yes, its own soul.

2) Most abortions are done out of convenience: Citing victims of rape, incest, or mothers who are at risk is a poor excuse to justify abortion. These situations account for approximately 1% of abortions, and still, people fail to acknowledge that abortion commonly leads to depression or other health risks (especially late term abortions), and more often than not have damaging side effects on the mothers. According to Guttmacher Institute, "the three most common reasons—each cited by three-fourths of patients—were concern for or responsibility to other individuals; the inability to afford a child; and the belief that having a baby would interfere with work, school or the ability to care for dependents. Half said they did not want to be a single parent or were having problems with their husband or partner." To summarize: the vast majority of women have abortions based on convenience.

3) Abortion is murder: If it is true that the baby is its own human person, and that most abortions are done for reasons of convenience, how can anyone deny that abortion is murder? What is all the more horrifying is to see the common methods of abortion used. Dr. Anthony Levatino, Obstetrician-Gynecologist, who has performed over 1200 abortions, explains the procedures quite clearly if you have the stomach to watch them:

Hillary Clinton's stance on abortion is well known and often praised. It does not matter to me what you think about her domestic and foreign policies or how qualified you believe her to be. This is the woman who received Planned Parenthood's Margaret Sanger Award the same day she visited the true image of Our Lady of Guadalupe and asked, "Who painted it?" And as a Christian, I cannot tolerate it. Her undeniable fervor in supporting the pro-choice platform is a direct affront to Christian values. To reiterate, this article is not an endorsement of Trump or any third party candidate for that matter. But at the beginning of the article I asked, "Will you be able to justify your vote to God?" And in some way or another, I think all Christians are going to have to this election season, and our country is certainly in need of prayer. I do not believe that a vote can either damn or save us, but I do believe that as a Christian, there is a moral obligation to vote your conscience. And the way I see it, a vote for Hillary Clinton is a vote to support the biggest genocide in human history against the most innocent and helpless population there is, and that must certainly oppose any Christian's conscience.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
