Everybody falls in love with New York City. You see it in movies,TV shows, and you read about it in books and magazines. People from all over the world want to live in New York, and the people that already live here never want to leave because they don't believe there is a better city. Not surprisingly enough, I agree with them. These are 21 reasons why New York City is the best city in the world.

1. The skyline.

The iconic skyline of New York City. There is really not much to say except for the fact that no matter how many times you have an amazing view of it, you always feel the need to take a picture of it.

2. It's everywhere. Movies, TV shows, books, everywhere.

No matter what movie you are watching, it is most likely always set in New York City. What is even cooler is that sometimes while you are casually walking around the city, you see people filming on the streets.

3. Brunch.

Everybody goes to brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. Cute restaurants, mimosas, and friends at noon are the best combination.

4. Coffee shops.

There must be at least one thousand coffee shops in the city. The city itself runs on coffee. They can be great spots to study or meet with friends. Plus, some of them are just the cutest coffee shops ever.

5. You never get bored.

There is always something going on or something new to see. There are always new places to discover. It is impossible to be bored in the city.

6.You meet people from all over the world.

New York is a very international city. Since you meet people from all over the world, learning about other cultures and listening to people talk on the street in different languages is apart of our daily life.

7. Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter.

I haven't decided which season is my favorite, but the best part about living in New York is that you don't have to decide. Central Park is amazing during any time of the year.

8. New York Fashion Week.

Since New York is a fashion capital, fashion week happens twice a year. During this time of the year, designers, models, and fashionable people walk around the city wearing the coolest outfits. If you are lucky enough, you can attend some of the best fashion shows in the world.

9. Soho and its street art.

Everybody loves Soho. The narrow streets, the cool restaurants, the amazing street art... everything about Soho is just amazing.

10. Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

People say Williamsburg is where hipsters live, and perhaps they are not entirely wrong. However, you can find really cool places and street art in Williamsburg. Also, Smorgasburg, the flea and food market, is something you definitely don't want to miss out on.

11. Subway rides.

Okay, sometimes it can be a little disgusting to ride the subways. However, subway rides can sometimes be really fun or at least interesting. There are always people dancing, singing, playing an instrument, fighting, or shouting at random people.

12. You can literally wear anything

Literally anything. You can go full Lady Gaga and nobody will say a thing.

13. Broadway

Broadway has some of the most amazing shows in the world, and we do it better than anyone. Plus, we have to admit, Times Square is pretty impressive.

14. Museums.

We have everything from Andy Warhol to Picasso. Museums are always a must when you visit the city.

15. Shake Shack.

You will never have a more delicious burger in your life.

16. Joe’s Pizza.

There is no better pizza than Joe's Pizza. Even celebrities go there, and it is open until 5:00am on the weekends.

17. Parks.

Central Park, the High Line, Gramercy Park, Bryant Park, Madison Square Park... they are all astonishingly beautiful.

18. New York during the holidays.

During the holidays, the city is just breathtaking. There are christmas lights everywhere, snow, ice skating rinks in every park, Saks Fifth Avenue's window display and lighting show, and the tree at Rockefeller Center. It makes you enjoy the holidays like no other city.

19. Clubs.

From underground clubs to rooftops, New York City's nightlife has a lot to offer. There are thousands of bars and clubs all over the city and each of them have a unique atmosphere.

20. Concerts.

When artists from all over the world come to New York to perform, they give some of the best performances of their lives. Living here gives you the opportunity to finally meet your favorite singer.

21. Because it's New York City.

And I don't think there is a more valid reason than this one.

To My Loving Boyfriend,

  • Thank you for all that you do for me
  • Thank you for working through disagreements with me
  • Thank you for always supporting me
  • I appreciate you more than words can express
  • You have helped me grow and become a better person
  • I can't wait to see where life takes us next
  • I promise to cherish every moment with you
  • Thank you for being my best friend and confidante
  • I love you and everything you do

To start off, here's something I don't say nearly enough: thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You do so much for me that I can't even put into words how much I appreciate everything you do - and have done - for me over the course of our relationship so far. While every couple has their fair share of tiffs and disagreements, thank you for getting through all of them with me and making us a better couple at the other end. With any argument, we don't just throw in the towel and say we're done, but we work towards a solution that puts us in a greater place each day. Thank you for always working with me and never giving up on us.

Ah, yes, good old Hauppauge. We are that town in the dead center of Long Island that barely anyone knows how to pronounce unless they're from the town itself or live in a nearby area. Hauppauge is home to people of all kinds. We always have new families joining the community but honestly, the majority of the town is filled with people who never leave (high school alumni) and elders who have raised their kids here. Around the town, there are some just some landmarks and places that only the people of Hauppauge will ever understand the importance or even the annoyance of.
