Why New Year's Resolutions Are Important

At the end of the year, it is common for people to make New Year’s Resolutions. Some people often opt out of this tradition because it can be a challenge to keep these resolutions throughout the New Year, and no one wants to feel defeated.

New Year's resolutions can also feel silly at times. I believe that it is important for all of us to embark on this challenge this upcoming year.

Why are New Year’s resolutions important? Coming up with resolutions forces us to reflect on our actions during the past year. When you decide to make a resolution, you are deciding that you need to change something about yourself. This self-reflection is very important for everyone.

Once we decide that we need to change something, creating a resolution allows us to challenge ourselves to change in the upcoming year.

Every resolution is important, whether you decide to have a healthier lifestyle, spend more time with your siblings, or become more committed to your schoolwork.

This New Year, I challenge you all to challenge yourselves by reflecting on this past year and committing to a New Year’s resolution. Happy 2017!

Here are just a few signs that prove your current friend group is the ultimate friend group.

Ross and Monica Geller were definitely overbearing and overshared some things through the series of "Friends," but they captured perfectly what real siblings feel in real life. Some of their antics were funny, some were a little weird but all of them are completely relatable to brothers and sisters everywhere.

Her sister was a member, her mom was a member, all of her aunts were members, and her grandma was a member. She has been waiting her whole life to wear these letters and cried hysterically on bid day. Although she can act entitled at times, you can bet she is one of the most enthusiastic sisters.

Every kid in college and/or high school dreams of summer the moment they walk through the door on the first day back in September. It becomes harder and harder to focus in classes and while doing assignments as the days get closer. The winter has been lagging, the days are short and dark, and no one is quite themselves due to lack of energy and sunlight. Let's face it: life is ten times better in the summertime.
