7 Reasons Naps Are Absolutely Vital To Surviving Everyday Life In Your 20s

Naps have many benefits to humans of all ages and even more benefits for busy college students like myself.

Naps are great for resting, thinking, or de-stressing. And although naps aren't for everyone, here are some helpful excuses. I mean reasons to take a nap when you have some downtime. And when parents complain that you are sleeping or napping too much, here is some good evidence to support your love for naps.

Enjoy your new love, or existing love, of napping and I wish you all the best of dreams and wishes.

Naps are great for boosting energy.

Have you ever taken a nice nap and woke up feeling new and refreshed? Feeling like you can tackle anything that is thrown at you, even that 6-page paper that you have pushed off? Naps are amazing at refreshing your body and getting you ready for whatever may come your way.

Naps help break up the continuation of your day.

Tired of doing the same thing over and over again? This can make you feel more tired than you really are but by taking a nap and giving your brain a break, you are allowing it time to just relax.

They are great for your mood.

I don't know about you but I always wake up in a better mood when I take a nap after a difficult test or presentation. Being able to let my mind rest and not worry about life around me puts me into a better mood all the time.

Beneficial to studying!

Being able to nap and go back to studying is better than drinking caffeine because there is less of a crash when you run out and also naps improve memory and concentration.

Improve your Immune Health.

With your body constantly on the go, your immune system is unable to always keep up, putting yourself and others in danger of getting sick. Just taking a quick 30-minute nap can help improve your immune system.

Naps can lower your blood pressure especially after dealing with mental stress.

Whether that mental stress is from school, work, or even family; a nap can help lower your stress and also helps keep your heart rate down. Sometimes we all just need some time to relax and let our body recharge

Gives you creative ideas!

Have you ever woken up from a nice long nap with ideas flowing? I personally love when this happens because it gives me new article ideas everytime it happens. Especially when you jump up, super excited with an idea.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
