I know people always write stories about their sororities, but I want to share why I have fallen completely in love with my sorority.
I came to UNO entirely on my own, and felt like I had no one. I was home sick and lonely and felt kind of out of place. Then came the day when I walked into ZTA, and my world flipped upside down.
Joining ZTA was one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. The girls are some of the most loving, compassionate, caring, genuine, and kind people I know. We support each other and have each others backs. We are truthful with one another and better each other every single day. Zeta Tau Alpha has truly given me a home away from home, and that makes my heart so unbelievably happy.
Zeta Tau Alpha has helped me become a stronger person. It has helped me learn to serve better, learn better, and love greater. We focus on excellence and being the best versions of ourselves. We strive for academic success. We strive to show others true beauty. We strive to show others what endless love and unconditional friendships look like.
ZTA has not only allowed me to grow stronger, but it has also shown me that it is okay to lean on my sisters. It is okay to ask for help and guidance. It is okay to need someone. The most beautiful thing is that they will always, always, always be there to catch me when I fall.
Our philanthropy, Breast Cancer Education and Awareness, is so important. The passion our girls feel for it is so inspiring. I love the smiles we see on survivors faces when they know we are there to support them and love on them. I personally have learned so much from our Philanthropy which has helped grow me as a person. The heart we have for our philanthropy is just so amazing to me, and makes me fall even further in love with Zeta Tau Alpha.
Sisterhood is not all about cute clothes and fabulous pictures. Sisterhood is an unbreakable bond of girls who will go to the end of the earth just to be there for one another. It is being real with one another when that might not be the easiest thing to do. It is being able to call someone who might not be your best friend and know they will come running.
My sorority truly has my heart, and I would not want it any other way.
