27 Reasons Why My Dream Is To Be A Mom

Every person has a dream that they hope will come true one day. Some dreams are bigger than others, while others may seem simpler. As corny as it may sound, my biggest dream is to be a wife and mother, having my own happy family. This dream may sound simple, but in today’s world, it seems so rare to find a happily married couple with kids, living together in harmony. My dream may seem small to you, but for me, it is all I want out of life – a genuinely happy, loving family.

Personally, ever since I was a little girl, my favorite toys were baby dolls, stuffed animals, or American Girl dolls. I loved any toy that allowed me to pretend to be a mom. Therefore, my dream has always been clear to me. Here are 27 reasons I hope to be a mom one day:

1. Having someone to take care of.

2.Having someone to nurture.

3. Having someone to love.

4. Devoting my life to someone else.

5. To pass on my life lessons.

6. To pass on my knowledge.

7. To teach my own children how to be good people.

8. To teach my own children to better the world.

9. To create someone out of love with the person I love.

10. To have someone be a mini me.

11. To have someone be a mini of my husband.

12. To care for others more than myself.

13. To make each day fun and full of memories for my little one(s).

14. To reestablish family values.

15. To create family memories.

16. To always be there for someone else.

17. To be a role model.

18. To have a reason to smile everyday.

19. To have a reason to wake up everyday.

20. To have my own real life dolls.

21. To dress up my kids.

22. To take my kids trick-or-treating.

23. To take my kids to Disney.

24. To be a soccer mom.

25. To sing Disney songs with my kids.

26. To watch cartoons with kids.

27. To make my dreams come true.

As we grow older, we realize that our moms are the most important people to us. They are our best friend, mentor, role model, and nurturer. Many of us finding ourselves saying, “I don’t know what I would do without my mom,” and that is because no one will ever love or care for us more than our mothers. I hope that one day I can have that much of a positive influence on my kids.

Although many people may view my dream as cliché, simple, and boring, I am not ashamed to admit that it is what I have wanted and looked forward to since I was a little girl. It may seem simple, but I believe it is much more complicated than it sounds. There are way too many people today who get married and have kids and go through a bad divorce, or have miscarriages, or cannot get pregnant. I hope and pray everyday that I marry the love of my life, have babies, and live a family-oriented, loving, happy life.

In case you're unaware, "resting bitch face" is the term used to describe when a person's natural, expressionless face makes it look like they are mad at the world. Whether they are walking down the street or simply spacing out thinking about what to eat for dinner, it's very easy for others to assume that this person is either upset or mad at them. Because of this, those of us with Resting Bitch Face (RBF), and especially us women, have all experienced many of the same situations and conversations, including:

We've all had a crush before. Whether it leads to something or nothing, the process has all been the same. The awkward feelings, the stalking, and the stress of trying to keep this huge secret. The feeling of becoming a total spazz is something that cannot be avoided, and the most spazzy family that can relate to this feeling is the Belcher's.

At the tender age of 18, we are bestowed with the title of “adult.” For 17 years, we live under the rules and guidelines of our parents, school, and government, and to stray from any of those rules or guidelines marks us as a rebel. At 18, though, we must choose which college we want to go to or what career we want. We are allowed and encouraged to vote. We can buy lottery tickets and cigarettes. We can drop out of school, leave our household, and do other "adult" things. At 18, we start down a path of thinking for ourselves, when for the entirety of our lives other institutions have been mandated to think and do for us.

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.
