Why My Best Friends Are My Rocks

Sometimes all you need in life is a best friend to get you through the tough times.

Why My Best Friends Are My Rocks

Best friends are the people that are there for you when you feel like no one else is. They teach you lessons, give you advice whether it's about clothes or dating or even just on school work, they will always be there for you. Best friends will teach you so much about yourself than you would have ever imagined and the best part is that they are your friends so they will be around for a while.

Even with going away to college my best friends and I have managed to keep in touch and are closer than we ever were before. It's almost like the distance between us just ended up strengthening our friendships with one another. We have managed to keep in contact with each other and what is going on in everyone's life at the moment through group messages. Although sometimes the best friend group message gets out of hand you still would not trade it for anything. All of my friends go to different schools in different areas and we only see each other on holiday breaks. But, that doesn't stop us from having fun and talking to each other in the meantime.

Without a good group of friends this world would be a very lonely and cold place. My biggest fear when leaving for college was how am I supposed to make new friends or how do I even make friends. Up until now I have just stuck with the same group of friends that I made because my parents were friends with their parents and now that is not the case I had to make friends on my own. If there was not an open seat next to me in my freshman year English class than I do not think that I would have met my best friend that I made up at school. Because of this happening, I feel that everything does happen for a reason. This person has become so close to me that I consider her my best friend and has helped me through so much at school that my friends back at home just could not do. Either way, I am thankful for my friends.

There are many things that I feel I need to thank my best friends for because without them I would not be where I am at today. My best friends have been there for me through some of the hardest times of my life. Because of this, it has caused our friendships to become even closer. I know that I can trust my friends with everything in my life and even with advice that I need. Without these people in my life that I am able to call my best friends I would be lost. To quote Greys Anatomy my best friends are my person. They are there for me through all of the ups and downs of life and I cannot thank them enough for that.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

We've all been there. From move-in day to the first finals week in college, your first term is an adventure from start to finish. In honor of college decisions coming out recently, I want to recap some of the most common experiences college freshmen experience.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!
