Actors are usually great people because they often show large amounts of empathy. The actors' jobs are to put themselves in the shoes of those who they are trying to replicate. They understand their characters on a deep psychological level. The actors are forced to see perspectives through the eyes of others that they might not completely agree with. This builds a level of empathy in the actors.

Empathy is one of the most important traits for positive relationships. It is the Golden Rule "Treat Others the Way you Wish to be Treated." While it may seem like common sense, a surprising amount of people tend to lean more towards the apathy philosophy. Nobody wants to be the statue; they want to be the pigeon and if that destroying someone else, then they will do what they have to do.
It is easy to get caught up in our bubbles and forget that the world is far more expansive than we realize. We do not know everything although some people seem to think that they do. This can be observed in our most recent presidential election. Many conservative voters were viewed as racist or misogynistic and many liberal voters were seen as being lazy and entitled. Essentially, each side viewed the other as evil. While there is a small grain of truth in some of these accusations, these are largely false claims from the perspectives of people who cannot bring themselves to respect or understand the viewpoints of others.
Sometimes when people see an injustice done to someone else, they do nothing about it. However, actors are one of the groups the most frequently go against that policy. They choose that path because they understand things from the victim's perspective. That is why actors are some of the best people.
