When I was younger, I couldn’t even stand the sight of my mom. Contrary to the way I was when I was 13, it’s impossible for me to go one day without talking to my mom. Here are a few reasons why moms are the best friends to have:
1.They know you better than you know yourself
Hearing my mom say this always made me furious, and to be honest, it still does. Although I can’t stand hearing this, I know most of the time, it's true. Mom’s know you are planning to sneak out before you even step foot out of your bedroom door.
2.They can detect good friends from bad friends
Somehow, moms have this way of knowing whether someone is a good friend or not. The second your new friend walks through the front door, your mom has already seen how this friendship is going to play out, and she will not hesitate to tell you. Your mom is not afraid to tell you that "Becky" will only get you into trouble.
3. They have the best advice
Believe it or not, your mom was your age once. Chances are, she has already done everything you’ve done/will do. This being said, she has the BEST advice. From heartbreaks to cooking, they have it all covered.
4.They are the best person to talk trash with
Unlike your other friends, you never have to worry about your mom telling everyone how you really feel about someone. Even at 2 a.m, your mom is still ready to hear all about how tacky "Debby’s" dress looked tonight; quickly followed by her probably saying something like “I can't believe her mother let her out of the house like that!”.
5. They always want the best for you
Even when it seems like your mom's only job is to make you upset, she's always looking out for your best interest. When she tells you that maybe staying in for the night and studying is the best option, she's not trying to make you a nerd, she just wants you to succeed.
