Chipotle: the most overrated Mexican food chain that has ever happened to this society. I am always one to root for the underdog, but in this case Moe's Southwestern Grill is just the alphadog being under-appreciated. If you are looking for some quality burritos plus more, I fully recommend Moe's over Chipotle for a number of reasons.
1. “Welcome to Moe’s"
Every single time you walk into Moe's you are greeted with the sound of each worker in unison shouting "Welcome to Moe's!" Do you get that hospitality at Chipotle? I didn’t think so.
2. Free chips
One of the most glorious assets to Moe's is that chips are free. Yes, you heard me. Free chips. Do I have to say much more?
3. The Stack
Taco or Burrito?
Some of you might be thinking, “What is a stack?” It is a combination of two hard taco shells stuffed with any kind of food wrapped and grilled in a soft tortilla. It's like a taco and a burrito all in one. In simpler terms, it is a crunch wrap supreme from Taco Bell on crack. I promise you, once you go stack you never go back.
4. Free salsa
Along side of the free chips they also have an array of different types of salsa, all free of charge and unlimited in a buffet-like setting. They even have a spicy mango salsa. Spicy mango salsa. You could literally sit there and solely eat the free salsa itself.
5. Queso
One word. One syllable. Queso.
For the love of all things great, whoever decided to melt cheese and dip shit in it is the person I look up too. Nothing ever tastes bad covered in melted cheese. Really though, why Chipotle hasn't added this to their menu is beyond me.
6. More variety
Ever get sick of the same ol' Chipotle chicken, rice, and beans combo? At Moe’s they have way more things to put in your burrito, including bacon, guac, queso, tomatoes, jalapeños, onions, olives, cucumbers, sour cream, rice, beans, grilled onions, grilled peppers, grilled mushrooms, lettuce, pico de gallo, vinaigrette, chipotle ranch, hard rock 'n' roll sauce, corn and cilantro.
You bet I did my research.
7. No E. coli
And last but definitely not least, you can relax and eat at Moe's without any concern of dying from E. coli. If this doesn't convince you, then enjoy your E. coli-ridden food.
