I was born in 1994 and grew up in the 90's for the formative years of my life. It was such a simpler time, and now that I'm super stressed with midterm season, I figured it would be a good time to reminisce on what made us who we are today.
- Mad Libs. I'm honestly positive this is why I know most of my grammar rules.
- Fortune Tellers. Remember the pieces of paper you folded to discover which boy in the class you were going to marry?
- Tying up t-shirts with hairbands in the back to make them smaller. I kind of miss this, but I'm currently digging the sratty "I'm-wearing-a-XXL-shirt-for-fun-and-look-like-I'm-not-wearing-pants" look.
- Where's Waldo? I still don't know. Sneaky, sneaky Waldo.
- Bill Nye the Science Guy. BILL BILL BILL BILL! (If you didn't just chant that in your head, you're too young for this post)
- Furby. Okay, I don't really miss these, but they're classic. I once took the batteries out and it STILL woke me up at 3 a.m. I haven't slept since.
- Goosebumps. For community service, we read these books to children and even at age 21, they freaked me out...
- Lisa Frank. I'm currently rethinking my planner situation right now.
- Hit Clips. The best invention ever, if you want to listen to one song over and over for the rest of your days.
- The Macarena. What's up with all of these Quans and Dougies and Nae Nae-ing? I miss the original.
- Beanie Babies. When I was five, I broke my collar bone, so we (my parents and I) spent the summer collecting them. I'm still waiting to make money off of them.
- M.A.S.H. *Secretly hopes for Mansion, Chad Michael Murray, two kids, and a career as a pop star*
- Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. We loved this show so much that, for a group project in college, we remade the video, but with supply chain. Is that weird? Probably.
This list is in no particular order, and I'm sure I've missed a few, but the nostalgia is the same. Take me back?
