Why Matt Bellassai Is THE Internet Hero

We all have that hero; the one who keeps us sane or keeps us entertained. The person who always says the right thing. Sometimes, we all have that same hero. There is a person on the internet who we all know, or I am going to assume we all know who I am talking about. This person started his career getting drunk on BuzzFeed to give us life advice and now he is the drunk correspondent for Chelsea Handler.

Yes, everyone I am talking about Matt Bellassai.

For those of you who are uninformed of how the internet works, Matt is THE person of social media and the internet.

Matt Bellassai: Internet Beginnings

Just a little history lesson for all of you people, Matt signed up to be a community member of BuzzFeed. This is when he started posting articles to the website, because any community member can, and then BuzzFeed caught wind of him and he eventually was hired on as an editor. This was his gateway to becoming an internet sensation and being everything we needed in life.

Life can get really rough sometimes, and Matt always reminded us that it is going to be okay.

Bad day? Wine about it.

Matt Bellassai always reminds that, if we have a rough day, just drink some wine, get drunk and it is completely fine.

This speaks to us all, from a post-grad who stays on the couch, binge-watching TV sitcoms from the early 2000s to the new college freshman who is trying to figure out life, we all need some wine to really get through it. If you need a reminder that drinking wine at 3 p.m. on a Wednesday is okay, then please click this link.

He says what we ALL think.

We all think rational and irrational things. There have been times where we want to verbally assault the teenage cashier at the grocery store for acting like you are inconveniencing her with your items, so she cracks ALL of your eggs. We want to do these things but we don't, mainly because we don't have the balls or just don't know how to verbally assault someone.

Matt, on the other hand, says what he wants and just lets it fly on twitter.

His take on the seasons are always on point, even for his New York City life...

We all want to see the queen herself. No, not Queen Elizabeth but the OTHER queen. If you can't figure out I am talking about Beyonce, please go on your Spotify and add all of her albums to a playlist and listen to it on repeat. NOW.

For those of us who know who Queen B is, then we all understand that seeing her perform is probably the best thing we will EVER see in our lives. Matt understands this.

You know you would react in the same exact way.

Finally, Matt totally understands our love for certain celebrities. I am going to need you all to watch Chris Pratt on Chelsea. You can find this on Netflix. Go, I'll wait.

.....

.....

.....

Okay, bring it back.

We all know that we love Zac Efron. We do. If you don't, you know you are lying. Thankfully, Matt understands our true emotions about the hottest guy to come out of Disney. (NO THE SPROUSE TWINS ARE NOT THAT ATTRACTIVE).

He even understands that we all loved the same person from early 2000s.

Lol, politics?

No matter your political views, and I personally do not care if I offend you because this is the internet. Everyone on the internet is morally offended. However, Matt Bellassai understands how we feel about this election cycle.

So after we are finished fuming over people supporting Trump and all of his antic, or if people are done getting mad over at Hillary and her fashion statements (STOP PANT SUITS). Matt gets our final thoughts of any election coverage in the media.

This my friends, is why the internet will always need Matt Bellassai.

Thank you based god for Matt.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
