I Attended March For Life 2019 And Here's Why That Matters

Just remember, adoption is always an option.

The march for life is a huge annual event. Hundreds of thousands of people gather in D.C. to support a cause they all believe in. Many of them are young people. College, high school and even middle school students hop on a bus with their classmates to drive several hours to support a cause that is not about any of them.

In supporting the rights of the unborn, those marching are fighting not just for the rights of the unborn babies who have no voice, but for the mothers. It is extremely important that the world, especially those who oppose the pro-life movement, understand that those marching care about the mothers just as much as the babies.

By marching, we, the pro-life generation are declaring that there is another choice that does not require the termination of a human person's life. We want you to understand that no matter what caused it, your body now contains another person's body. If that person had a voice, they would choose to live.

Abortion takes away that other person's choice without a second thought. The world doesn't understand, but the march for life is a march for women's rights. The big difference between this march and say the women's march, is that the people marching are not marching for themselves.

They are selflessly marching for the rights of people the world is trying to say have no rights and they have no voice to help themselves. They are fighting and believing in a cause that does not just affect them. Where the matter being considered affects not just the quality of life of another, but their ability to live, period.

By saying that we get to choose who lives and who dies, we are saying that we get to play God, and that is not a right we should have. A bill in New York was just passed, saying that abortion is legal all the way until birth.

However, New York also has a law stating that the death penalty is illegal and immoral. Think about that. It is illegal to put to death criminals, but it is seen as moral and legal to kill innocent human beings before they even come into this world. We make the unborn suffer the consequences of either our actions or the actions of another.

There are those who believe abortion is wrong in all circumstances, except for the case of rape. Rape is a terrible, terrible thing that no one should ever have to go through. But by choosing to have an abortion because of rape, you may not realize that you are choosing to make that child pay for the terrible crimes of the man who did wrong to you.

I am not saying that in cases of all these unplanned pregnancies you have to suck it up and raise the kid. There is always the option of adoption. You'd be surprised that there are actually a lot of cases where there are many people who want to adopt, but not enough kids to adopt.

Some people are looking to adopt because they want a family but haven't been able to have kids. By choosing to carry the child to full term, you are giving another the opportunity to perhaps have that family that you are not quite ready for. Just remember, giving your child up for adoption is always an option.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
