Why I March: Boston Woman's March

Today I march. Today I march not only for my future daughter but for my ancestors. I march for woman's rights, climate change, LGBTQ rights, Black Lives matter, Human Rights and to spread love. Love was all I saw today.

Before leaving my dorm something was different. The air was warm and silence was spread throughout the campus. A shuttle set up by a school club took students to the nearest T stop (aka subway). The man in the shuttle van yelled to us "Are you going to the march?" " Yes!" we said, "well hop in, this is amazing!"

The lines to just get on the T were about an hour wait with men, women, and children committed to making a difference.

Once we got on the train that is when it hit me. I wasn't just marching for the US but all women across the world that feel this way yet can not march due to societies standards in their countries.

Hearing powerful men and women speak to 70,000+ people who flooded Boston Commons was a shock to how powerful we are together. Shutting down the streets of Boston to fight for woman's rights in 2017 was I think the most influential thing that I have seen in a while. I am proud to be part of such a loving movement and I hope you join on the road to love.

I am leaving you with pictures from the march that do not even describe the feeling of being there. Enjoy and march like a girl.

This is why I march. The world is yours, grab it by the balls.

If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
