There are things in life that make every person unique. There is a reason, and a why and a how to the concept of individuality that makes every person’s traits, characteristics, personality, obsessions, hobbies and so much more a mark of who we are. Yes, often times we our outwardly marked by our appearance: a smile across ones face or the clothes atop ones body, but where I like to look at a person is within because it tells so much more. For it is how one chooses to spend their time in what they do and who with and what these things explain about their morals, their soul, that puts the person in the perspective of their inner soul beyond the shell.
Since what we do and how we spend our time is such an important part in perceiving someone this is why I share with you one little snit bit of me. As my writers, I thank you for taking your time to read my articles; it means the world to me. With that here is why I love to write and spend so much time doing it.
For some, writing is the soul pain of their existence. The thought of analyzing, being creative or putting any sort of their thoughts onto pen and paper is a grueling and frightening task. For others, it is this magical detox that allows us to open our soul to others, but not in the same way verbal words do. Instead of chatters, writers have this ability to think about what we convey, play with it, and finally portray the final product. I love it immensely. Something about the words spurring on the page as I write a paper, a poem, a short fictional story and most importantly, to you, my readers weekly gives me a rush I can’t wait to share. To put it simply, I place it high on the pedestal of things that make me, well me, considering it has become such a large part of my life.
Now—enough about my obsessions, my little qualms and quirks. Now I pose to you a slight challenge. Take a moment to reflect on what makes you, you. How do you spend your time? What things matter most to you? What is the self you present to the world? What is the self you hope or dream of presenting to the world? All of these things, although sometimes difficult to reflect on and decipher by means of importance are pressing to address because it shows light on the person behind the curtain of clothes that often shells the little things that make us so special.
