There have been many singing competitions broadcasted on TV from Star Search to American Idol and everything in between. Each having their own style, from the auditions, broadcasting style, and how the contestants get voted off or go on in the competition. I have watched basically every signing competition there has been on TV, and nothing compares to The Voice. After watching The Voice for the past 11 seasons, I have noticed many differences from other shows that make it better than the others. There are many ways this show is different, but there are two that stand out the most to me.

One difference is the audition process. The singers go through a preliminary audition and then are invited back to the Blinds, which are televised. Unlike other shows where the judges can see the singer, and whether or not it is a proven fact, they will judge them on their looks as well as how they sound. On The Voice, all of the judges are turned away from the singers and all they have to focus on is the sound of their voices. This is my favorite part of the voice. You get to see people who look differently and from different age groups since there is no age cap and the minimum age is only 15. I absolutely love their fact they can't see them, it adds a truthfulness to who coaches picked since they aren't just focused on looks but rather their voice. It also adds suspense since you never know which coach will turn, or rather if they will turn.

The second difference is the addition of the coaches. I really like the fact The Voice has coaches that work with each contestant when they get chosen after the blind auditions. The coaches offer insight to the business as well as how to strengthen their voices and how they perform. The coaches also bring their own specific coaching style that is also very interesting to watch.

Other than the differences that this show has, another aspect of the show I like is the variety of singers that end up on the show. I like to call myself a music enthusiast because I don't just like one genre of music, I truthfully like all genres of music. On most singing shows, the majority of the singers end up either being pop or country with the occasional rocker or folk singer. On The Voice, you get everything, from pop and country to folk and Latin. This type of variety is not always found on the other shows.

If you've never watched The Voice or never had an interest to, I think you should, every time I watch I realize how much talent we have in America. I also have a greater appreciation for the superstars who made it in the industry because seeing all the talent we have in the country who has tried to make it shows how hard it is to become a musician in this country. Plus, every time on this show I believe a superstar is being born, if you don't believe me, check out this blind audition from last week, so emotional and he has such an amazing voice, i can definitely see myself buying his album one day.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. You feel like you will have never-ending classwork to catch up on if you miss class, so you end up going sick and then it just takes longer to get better. Being sick in college is really tough and definitely not a fun experience. Here are the 15 stages that everyone ends up going through when they are sick at college.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
