12 Reasons Why I Love The Fall Season.

As we get further into September, the closer to fall we get. Fall is my absolute favorite time of the year. There is just something about it that excites me and I feel my best during the season. Some people count down the days until summer comes, but I count down the days until fall arrives instead. I can't pinpoint one exact reason why I love fall but I can tell you several reasons why fall is a great season. Besides more is better than one in my mind, so why not have more than one reason as to why you love something.

1. The weather.

It is the perfect sweater weather. It's not too hot and its not too cold. It's just the perfect in-between.

2. Bonfires.

Going along with sweater weather, it is also the perfect weather to have bonfires. There is nothing better than snuggling up to a bonfire in your sweatshirt.

3. The colors.

When the leaves begin to change colors and start to fall you know that fall is in the air. The changing colors paint a beautiful background for nature and it is so pretty to look at.

4. The sky.

To go along with the leaf colors is the colors of the sky. There is just something about the sky during fall that is so unique and something that you won't get during the rest of the year and I think it has to do with the colors reflecting off of the trees.

5. Halloween.

Halloween is my third favorite holiday and it makes fall great because it falls in the middle of the fall season.

6. School.

Most people know that I love school already and that's another reason fall is a great season.

7. Family birthdays.

My family has a lot of birthdays to celebrate in the fall months, so its always a great time to look forward to in my family at least and probably others as well.

8. Pumpkin flavors.

The famous Pumpkin Spice flavor comes to light at this time in the year and I have to say it is a good thing to look forward to.

9. Caramel Apple Spice.

I have to say that my favorite flavor is Caramel Apple Spice, especially the drink from Starbucks and I look forward to having it when fall comes around. It is the perfect drink to have when the weather starts to get a little colder.

10. Pumpkin patches.

Picking out my pumpkin at the patches when I was a kid was one of my favorite fall memories and I can't wait to do the same thing with my children when I have them.

11. Apple picking.

To go along with pumpkin picking there is apple picking, which is another great memory from my childhood. It brings the family together to do something really fun and helps create those memories you will remember forever.

12. Closer to Christmas.

Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year and I know that when fall comes, I am that much closer to Christmas and the holiday season.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
